Between £99 ad £250 depending on what level you go for. There was a 30% discount floating around on social media as well but not sure if is still active.

What did you pay for it / where did you get it done? I am also in Bucks and keen to try the same.

I wonder how reliable and accurate this is?
It's probably not as bad as astrology, but it can't be that difficult to recommend a fairly generic schedule that'll fit 75% of us. scratchchin

See the link. They post you a swab, you swab the inside of your mouth and post it back. Two weeks later you get your results. I paid the full whack, £250, as that gave you both the diet and fitness breakdown in full.

I don't is anything like astrology. Mapping the human genome and research into it has won people Noble prizes.

They are testing for a limit number a genes. So the profile the give you is generic in some respects because they are look at specific things.

Maybe I have been ripped off I don't know. However I have put in to practice the suggested outcomes and have seen some improvements.

For example, the DNA test showed that my body is missing genes that deal with free radical removal and thus I am slower to recover from exercise. I have started using a Heart Rate Variability app. Sure enough each day after exercise you see the impact on my body and the time it takes to recover. I now split my weekly workouts with extra rest in the middle and have been making further gains.

Blog post on a great little weight loss trick! Makes a big difference, especially if you use it along with a full plan.

That is a good "trick".
I've also found 'mindful eating' has helped me cut down. yes
Yeah, that makes perfect sense, I am like the bloody Cookie Monster, throw it down like no tomorrow and overshoot how much I need to eat, I am eating smaller meals now but at normal speed, using willpower to get past the delay between eating and feeling full, but it does come, so eating more slowly like that method makes total sense.
Yes it is a really good 'pain free' way of starting a dieting plan, amazing how much less you actually need to eat than you think you do to be full!!

It is a bit tricky at first getting used to eating slower, especially with a plate of grub in front of you after a long day! But I genuinely lost a lot of weight using this and only this! Plus so much more healthy eating slowly.

Now just to get back into doing cardio, unfortunately moving slowly isn't as effective as eating slowly at getting results!!

Call me daft but say I eat 1500 calories, and also burn 800 calories doing cardio the same day. Will I lose weight or go into "starvation mode".

Reason I ask, is I did run on a major deficit for around 2 weeks and still struggled to lose weight. Got me wondering if this "starvation mode" has any truth in it, to some extent!

The body will try its best but willpower will smash through any plateau. Otherwise, you could live forever if you didn't eat.

You'd be going some to burn 800 calories a day via cardio!

Depends how heavy you are and how far and fast you go.

Trying to survive on 1500 calories and burning that amount through cardio is going be bloody hard work.

Not really
I play golf most days which burns over 1000. Plus gym a couple of times. 10km on bike burns 250-300 as a warm up!

I remember watching a documentary a few ago years about how exercise and also the type of excercise benefits some and not others; a DNA test can be done to determine what type of exercise is more benefitial for certain types of people.

Today I did a 3.3 mile run and burnt off 616 calories and later on, a 33 minute dog walk which burnt off 287 calories.

I also BootCamp two days a week; each session burning off around 500 calories, plus I walk a lot and there are the dog walks too; it is easy burning off 800 odd calories a day just by exercising/cardio.

I think where people go wrong is they eat less of the stuff they normally eat, the refined carby stuff which causes your bloody sugar to be all over the place, you have to eat different stuff otherwise you are hungry all the time.

Porridge is awesome, someone suggested I put Cinnamon on it on here, got some yesterday and it was fantastic.

Soup, to fill up on, look at the fresh soups, some can be 300 cals for a massive pot.

Veg, basically, knock yourself out on anything that isnt starchy and be sparing with those that are.

Salad, pile it high but easy on the dressing.

Eggs, I have changed from 2 scrambled eggs and 2 rounds of toast to 3 eggs and one round of toast, might do away with the bread entirely.

Baked spuds, fantastic, same with wedges, Sweet Potatoes as well, but just have one and be sparing with the butter.

Booze, I have just cut it out, two and a bit weeks now, its weird how booze becomes such a routine, its just what you do and you feel like you are missing out if you dont, but you arent, I had a little craving last night at 7pm but I got a can of Diet Coke, not missing it and not missing the calorie overhead.

My weight is coming down, like was said earlier, eat 1500 to 2000 cals a day, for most blokes the weight will come off but dont expect a pound a day, stick with it when it doesnt change, dont get despondent when it doesnt, and dont get cocky when it does.

I am finding my Bodyfat scales invaluable as motivation, seeing the BF percent drop is great as sometimes you dont get a weight drop, gives you a bit of insight, I know they arent 100 percent accurate and my pants tell the story and how I feel but being male and a bit geeky I like to quantify with numbers, gone from 31.5 to 29.0 percent body fat, still too fat but it has made a big difference, long way to go but its moving in the right direction.

I found eating less works but in addition to that, make sure your last meal is at least 4 hours before bed.
You'll start to notice how flat your stomach is when you wake, then when you stand up you realize there's a bit more way to go.
Start doing crunches after a week, this is like having a belt around you but inside under your skin, you naturally hold your belly in without thinking about it. It gets painful when you first crunch but it's worth it for the results.

Edit to add:

Grapefruit is like having fairy liquid, it cleans out fat from the pipes, so to speak.

And above all, Water, it helps burn the food.
