D*cks who drop weights

I'm not too fussed if people drop their weights or not but the guys that drop their guts while lifting upset me. I can't train hard when I'm trying not puke because of their pungent, protein enhanced aromas
There's a video on YouTube of a lifter literally dropping his guts. It's not pleasant.

Read the thread. No-one is talking about dropping iron plates onto a hard floor. Iron plates may be safely used (including lowering quickly) onto a rubber floor.
Eleiko website, powerlifting plates (iron):
'To be dropped on protected floor, recommended Eleiko Platform.'
http://www.eleikosport.se/en/0/product.aspx?ac=300...
IPF rulebook on the deadlift:
'Causes for Disqualification of a Deadlift:
7. Allowing the bar to return to the platform without maintaining control with both hands, i.e.: releasing the bar from the
palms of the hand.'
You're quite right. It ain't dropped, at least not for competition. People may choose to drop it in training (haven't come across this practice, but can understand the reasoning):

The girl in the background with her hands over her ears makes it.
Also, if he's training with someone, why does her keep popping his earphones in for every set!?

There is some real crackers in this thread!!
A Proper Deadlift is put down on the floor under control - in powerlfiting you will fail if you drop it.
Some athletes may only be focussing on the concentric phase of the lift, and so drop from the top part of the lift. This is totally acceptable.
That's not to say that some people are just being lazy though, but just because you're dropping a bar doesn't make you a dick!
Dropping dumbbells is fine, as long as you're considerate of others around you.
It's lucky some of you guys don't train in gyms with people doing Oly lifting! This means weight being dropped from overhead on every rep!
In proper gym lifting like this is encouraged!

From what I read on the first page, it was mostly people being upset about any kind of loud noise, or heavy exertion in the gym!
Go bored after reading 1/2 the thread so posted. Maybe it turned around towards the end!
It is / was, pretty much... with interesting diversions into what happens when people drop bars across their throats, how to bench safely alone in the rack and still have windows in your car when you leave, how to deadlift nice and softly, and what kind of concrete you can drop iron plates onto and still have peer approval. Plus girls in gyms with hands over their ears, misplaced enthusiasm, as much testosterone as you can shake a stick at and very, very little hypertrophy...Go bored after reading 1/2 the thread so posted. Maybe it turned around towards the end!

Exactly, and not really.Go bored after reading 1/2 the thread so posted. Maybe it turned around towards the end!
But the other whine thread is better and bigger, just use that one everyone!
I've done OL, but I wouldn't do it in a gym that frowns on it. Olympic plates are rare near me...or as they are now being called, crossfit plates. I get told off even when doing a 'controlled' drop from cleans.
