Impressive stuff Tonker, but wtf are you doing in the morning that you consider to be 1000cals of exercise?
And how long have you actually been doing this and seeing 5 lbs per week?

I'm also on 1500 cals a day (Mon - Fri) but eat more if I exercise (running 3/4 times per week and burning about 300 cals) to keep my calorie deficit around 1000 per day. Weekends I stick to no more than 2500 which is about my maintenance.

I've been doing this for about 11 weeks now and I've lost 22 lbs so far.

Can't help but be impressed with that Tinker, certainly too extreme for most (including me!)

How much are you intending to lose all in?

I'd imagine the lack of 20kg of crisps between now and then would make the biggest difference.

metabolism needs to be factored in for those the wrong side of 35...

My ideal weight is about 11.12, during different stages of my life Ive never had much problem returning to that weight. However, I'm 37 now and things are a lot harder.

I eat well
I run 30-35 miles each week, longest run normally 13 miles, with one day during the week I run to and from work totalling 17miles.
No snacks, apart from tinned sardines/tuna, fat free yogurt or banana / apple

Can I get back into the 11 stone bracket? Can I chuff. More exercise than I used to do, eat better than I used to but no, my weight is being a stubborn git!

You can easily achieve your goal weight if you really wanted to. I got down to 62kg and am the same height as you. I'm now back to my original weight (72kg) but look the right way round at 43. wink

I'm sure as well. Just seems like I need to increase exercise, decrease intake (both of which I have done already)

Im down to run a 17mile race in September, so I will have to increase my training for that. Probably up to 40m a week.

I'm still convinced metabolism is a factor though, as ive been running for years but only recently ive started to note that its effects on the body have reduced (appearance and weight)

Do you drink booze though?

That was the killer for me

I find 1 hour of intensive cycing a day (to and from work) and a longer 60-80 mile ride at weekends lets me eat as much as I want and still stay slim (30 inch waist) . In fact I end up having to eat st loads of cake to stop looking gaunt! Oddly age hasn't affected my weight or fitness as I am as slim as I ever have been @ 33 , plus my fitness is so so much better than my twenties or late teens.

Yes, but I wouldn't say I drink more now than I used to. Although I will concede I possibly, just possibly, drink a lot more than I should...

I drink more than I did 2 years ago and I've gone down a trouser size. I have dramatically increased the amount of sport I play, though. (That has something to do with the increase in alcohol. You know how it is.)

The raw chicken diet is pretty good. Enables you to fast for a week or two and lose up to two stone.
biggrin
Or the kidney stone diet, 17 lbs in two weeks, plus the added bonus of 24/7 pain whilst that is going on.

Followed up with a kidney stent, done under GA, for 6 weeks then another GA for stent and stone removal!

I'm at stage 2 :-)

So you have an ECU, upgraded turbo, intercooler and shiny new exhaust?

Going on holiday doesn't have to mean stopping exercise and healthy eating or a massive binge of food and booze consumption.

That's why he writes for the Grauniad.

My wife has lost 5 stone and dropped from a size 20 to a size 10 in a year, so it can be done.

We've basically increased her exercise and controlled the calorie intake with minimal processed foods (plus the odd treat here and there).

It's good though because despite having had two children in the past three years, her tummy is retreating nicely with no excess skin sagging down smile

I like to run when im on holiday, its a good way of exploring, especially if you get up early. But as you say you have to watch the heat and have plenty of water.
