Gf has been slowly losing body fat with her primary objective being losing fat from bum/hips.
However, through regular weights and cardio (and good diet) she has now got to a point where Abb definition is starting to come through and she is probably only a few weeks away from sixpack territory. Meanwhile, although she has lost considerable size from the areas she wants to target she still lacks any significant definition in her legs. If she just carries on what the likely outcome? Will her upper body (as a percentage) simply lose less and less while her fat areas carry on getting smaller???

Or liposuction smile ?

She's currently a 6/8 upper body and a 10 lower. Any more and she's going to be ripped above the waist before her legs look defined.

No such thing as spot reduction I am afraid. If she keeps on what she is doing it will eventually go away. Fat is only broken down from where there is a good blood supply and then transported to the liver where it is broken down to provide energy to the body as a whole.

Does she tend to put on fat in that area first? This is fairly common in females. If she is on contraceptives, then that could also be affecting her hormones and directing the body to keep hold of the fat there.

Just get her to keep up the heavy squats and deadlifts to build up her legs to get some definition.

What you need to do is break the fat up. Don't listen to nonsense saying you cannot target fat areas rolleyes

Ideal methods of breaking fat include spanking, the doggy position, bucking bronco and the 'cowgirl'. Aim to achieve this at least three times a night and she'll have a slender behind in no time.

(I'll send you the payment details hehe )

She does leg exercises?

Eat less is the sensible answer

Ok. Eat less isn't the answer! Her fat loss is slow and progressive on her current diet which is designed to bear in mind her regular weight training as well. I guess she just keeps on going and hope to see consistent improvements.

A friend of mine runs, bikes everyfkingwhere, swims open water has done an ironwoman, basically is nails. She normally stands/lies next to me at Pilates and from her waist up is ripped and has small boobies but has a really big arse and thighs. Her arse is great but it's quite big and doesn't match the upper half of her body, that's just how she's built.

Just squat more. Guessing the only aspect that bothers her is she feels like it's fat? More squats will tighten it up nicely, and then she can be happy about it.

I am in the camp that says different stimuli cause fat to be lost / gained in different areas.

A couple of paragraphs on here is going to make any specific advice very difficult. And with so many factors having an impact, a lot of it is about looking for clues, working on something, analysing the results and taking the next step based on the responses.

Exactly where is she carrying the extra? Bum and hips can be quite general. From the description you have made she has a pear shape? So slim waist. Does she have love handle that are disproportionate to her abs?

I am happy to use BioSig to give some input for you.

yep - tiny waist, ripped upper body. bum/outer thigh is where weight is carried.

BF measures as 16% on a caliper test using tri, bicep, sub scap and hip......but would be plus 20% (IMO) if her fat was even across her bod

You're probably some way out in that she is only a few weeks away from being ripped, it will take a lot of effort to get properly ripped and still have fat legs and arse, it will go, just needs to stick at it, it will happen.

Though I do think for some women its harder than others, you do see some decent pro cyclist women who are not defined, but oddly you very rarely see a pro women triathlete who does not look lean and in fantastic shape.

Interesting thread, i'm a guy and I find my problem areas are love handles and belly. I think everyone has a place where they lose fat last, where at the start of the fat lose journey its most prevalent.

If I drop too much weight my face just looks like a skull and my wrists/feet get tiny...

Does she take a hormonal contraceptive pill? Any added estrogen is going to cause her to gain less muscle (1/3 less apparently I read in one study) and retain fat in her hips and thighs.

My wife got pretty ripped after coming off hormonal contraception once we'd finished having kids - she's here if you're interested https://instagram.com/human__doing/
squats and definitely deadlifts work wonders!
