Full Body Workouts
Discussion
Anyone out there doing or recommend a full body workout? Previously done 5x5, and currently doing a push/pull/leg split. Issue is my week can be a bit random with work and other commitments so I might only be able to hit the gym once or twice a week.
I play football a couple of times a week, but thinking a full body workout would be better for me. I found this online but any recommendations would be great. I enjoyed the big compound lifts of the 5x5 previously.

I do a combo of 531 and push pull on lazy weeks. Any other week i will do the traditional one body part a day routine ,but still 531 for compounds.
Your link looks fine and its refreshing that the article is not covered with "fitness models" and the BS that goes with it.
3x10 heavy sets over a whole body workout is where its at.

It's funny how people like us consider this a lazy option. For most people, the lazy option is sitting with a beer in front of the TV. Sometimes, I cba so I'll just do a 10x10 GVT. Less to think about. #lazybastidProbably little wrong with the workout linked, but I can't see any reason to not continue the compounds you've done in 5x5.
Squat, bench, OHP, deads & rows are all staples - just reduce the volume a little; 2x8 or 3x5 to fit them into one session. Change emphasis regularly by switching the order you do them, maybe?

I've done this one on and off for years working out at home. It has the big compound exercises with variations on different days to make it a bit more interesting. To keep up the intensity the rest in between sets is shorter.

Thanks folks. I will take a look at the http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/benblack1.htm program as it looks interesting and certainly keeps it varied on the exercises but covers the core muscle groups.
I'll think about mixing up the 5x5 as well as this could be a good option as well.

I have been 'mixing up' 5x5's with secondary exercises for a while now, and have had some OK results.I'll think about mixing up the 5x5 as well as this could be a good option as well.
