Can't see it being a problem, a few people in the running club I go to run almost every day with no problems. If running's what you enjoy then keep it up.

Definitely worthwhile taking notice of any injuries though, i.e. best not to just try to run them off.

Not necessarily. How far are you running?

I run 4-5 times a week, clocking up between 30-35 miles and wonder if I'm overdoing it. I do get a bit of lower back pain so am trying to cut down a little and replace one run with rowing or swimming.

6 days a week is fine, so is twice a day (If you add up both runs to make a daily run).
Make sure you get in a recovery run at 20% slower than normal pace after your hardest weekly run.

Have a look at the running thread, there are lots of tips and hints there..

I would think it depends on the distance.

5k or 10k would probably be fine. 15 to 20 may be a bit excessive. All depends on the level of fitness that you start with.

or "how long is a piece of string"

depends on how far, how fast, how fit you are plus many other things.

If you're getting injury "niggles" and feeling tired then maybe it's too much. If you feeling OK, then it's OK. most of the time your body will tell you when you're doing too much of anything.
