I am 2 days in, it's hell!

Have the nicorette QuickMist thing, working with the cravings quite well, I don't feel like I need nicotine but I just want a smoke!

I am determined not to give in and so far so good, am running Tough Mudder next year and getting in shape to do that at the moment, swimming twice a week and running twice a week, so the no smoking will help there I am sure... just doesn't seem worth it right now smile

I got about 4-5 hours sleep last night I kept waking up and having weird dreams, apparently this is normal, here's hoping for better tonight!

Anyone else here been through it? Tell me it gets better!

It's day three and the day dreams from day one have returned, feel a little dizzy and spaced, again I am told this is normal, it could also be sleep deprivation, about 4-5 hours again last night!

I'm at......*goes off to check* 114 days without a cigarette.

The dream are weird and weird, then there are the dreams about smoking.

for me the hardest part, was the 1st 3 days. Once that was done each day got easier, not noticably, but it was there.

Just remember
A craving lasts 3 to 4 minutes. When you have one just go and find something else to keep you occupied. It will pass.

Put the money you would have smoked away. Thats your holiday sorted.
Better health more energy
Cheaper life cover (if you have a mortgage or private health)
And you dont smell of smoke any more.

There are no negatives
Keep it up

I'm at 107 days. Cold Turkey. No drugs/e-cigs/patches.

The thought of smoking now makes me feel ill. The smell of smoke is gut-turning.

So happy to be free, I feel better every day.

Just over a year now. I used a vape with a reducing nicotene dose over three months, then put in in the kitchen drawer to see how long I could last, it is still there.

Well done guys and thanks for the encouragement!

Stessful day today and I have kept off the cigs but it was really difficult.

Tomorrow doesn't look to be any better, will be a challenge....

My "Road to Damascus moment" was the realisation that you have somehow got into the habit of thinking that the next cigarette will make you feel a little better, a slight high. And it never does. Over and over and over again. I stopped immediately.

Whatever your reason, it doesn't take long before you look back and wonder why you were doing something so pointless and stupid. You are almost there. Keep it up. Spend the money you save on a sports car tyres.

Gave up 45 years back, thank goodness. I really wanted to pack it in and threw away some fags on day one. Never smoked again, keep going mate and you will soon find it to be a great decision you have made.

Last smoked: 18 Days 14 Hours 27 Minutes
Not smoked: 280 smokes!
Saved: £111
Life Expectancy increased: 1 Day 3 Hours 55 Minutes

Sleep is almost back to normal, nicorette Quick Mist helps with the cravings which are much less frequent, was using a pump a week, this one feels like it will last longer which is good!
