Hi Peeps,

I had a meniscal tear in my knee probably 1-2 years ago. Following a minor keyhole procedure it was back to normal and I was cycling again.

However I think I have done it again, same knee, same symptoms etc.

For a variety of reasons I've not yet gone back to the doctors but on past experience it'll take months for a referral anyway. In the meantime;

1) Will I do any further damage if I keep on cycling? I tend to do offroad rides on a rigid mtb of 15-35miles each weekend. By the end it is usually a little bit painful but not too bad. The next few days it smarts a bit more but not too bad.

2) Assuming the answer above is no, will knee brace of some sort be a good idea? If so what type?

Thanks in advance.

busy tonight, but on the face of the above statements - yes

get checked out quickly but someone who knows what to do with meniscal tears

most hospitals (worth their salt) have an Acute Knee Clinic.

Bugger. Thanks for the reply - I appreciate it even if it isn't what I want to hear! I will look into it ASAP.

This is why I like PH - 5 minutes to get a response from someone who knows what they are talking about!

Cheers.
