I had a low PSA to start with (4.4) but my GP referred me 'as a precaution' (I was peeing frequently). A year and two biopsies later, cancer was confirmed and very agressive - extremely high Gleason score, but contained hence the hormones + radiotherapy.

As for being a 'lady', the hot flushes went on for quite a few months. As my GP (female) said, "Welcome to my world..."
Ideal time to have them through winter to keep me nice and warm. smokin

Gleason score of 10 (maximum I believe) and the bloody thing has escaped so need to get on with the radiotherapy and shoot it.

Diet might be worth looking at.

Had the finger up the bum test last year.

It really is no drama. Honestly. I hope no one avoids getting it done because they are too worried about it.

It's a bit surreal but that's it. Doesn't hurt. Just talk about the football or something.

You'll either be given the all clear in which case it's a weight off your mind, or catch something early whist there is better chance of sorting it. Don't put it off.

The symptoms are not typical of BPH. You're at serious risk of a bladder/renal stone carrying on as you are. You'll also be straining your kidneys running dry. Drink more (less alcohol/caffeine) and see your GP if it doesn't settle down.

92 year old father is undergoing hormone therapy for localised prostate cancer for 3 months now. After a recent blood test his consultant wrote to say his PSA level has dropped down markedly which is a very encouraging sign!
