Stop using devices and watching programs that stimulate the brain as you're not winding down enough.

Read an actuall book a you'll notice a massive difference in getting to sleep quicker. Only takes a couple of chapters for me and my eyes start going.

A bout of energetic sex usually helps you get a good sleep.

If you struggle to get up there is no way around the fact that you need to go the sleep earlier:

1. Have a date with Rosie Palms = use the after-sex-instant-snoring mode. biggrin

or

2. If you lay there in the dark but can't turn your brain off pondering about things: Listen to some audio commentary (from a movie you've seen a few times) over small earphones (only one of you sleep sideways), but turn the volume way down so you have to concentrate hard to understand it. = Not long and your brain will cave in.

I used to work as a chef so would get home at all sorts of early hours of the morning and i struggles to sleep properly for years, now I'm in a job where normal work hours are 7-3. I'm in bed at 10 every night Sunday to Thursday. I purposely bought a beside alarm so that I can leave my phone on charge in the living room, We Don't Drink sugary/caffeinated Drinks After 8 and we have a no gadgets allowed in the bedroom rule for sleeping. It's worked wonders. Some mornings I struggle but most I don't feel too bad. Especially after my shower and coffee. Diet plays a big part aswell.

Also what about your actual bed? I spent years being cheap with buying a bed and spending a good wad of cash on a decent bed was one of the best things we did!!
