Apart from some independent studies having allegedly tested some popular protein brands and found their nutritional information claims to be bogus.

Optimum Nutrition Gold Standard - I haven't had a bad flavour yet, but the strawberry is very nice.

Friend of mine mixes unflavoured whey with nesquik. Tastes like a normal milkshake, rather than one that has been left in the sun to go off and then returned to the fridge hehe

I just had my protein shake (ON Gold Standard) with milk, 2 raw eggs and a few other bits - definitely better with milk if you're not lactose intolerant.

Heard too many stories about poor quality protein powders (basically lying about ingredients and nutritional content).

I try and eat whole food when possible and, when not able to, only trust Reflex products really. The cheap discount brands are a false economy in my view.

I was under the impression Maxi-Nutrition Cyclone was one of the better ones?

I use the chocolate flavour Science in Sport Rego Recovery soya based protein shake. It's delicious - Basically it tastes like chocolate cake mix!

I had the whey-based one previously but that tasted weird and revealed a whey intolerance which gave me a stomach upset of biblical proportions about two hours after I'd consumed it, fortunately when I was at home.
