Front (although she has pain in her back too), top right (or top left if you were looking at her facing you)
Gallstones maybe? Although I'd imagine the GP would have thought about that.
An abdominal ultrasound would rule that out, it would be unusual for a slim female to have gallstones

Far more likely to be bowel related if the US is normal.

Depends on what scan was done. An ultrasound specifically for the aorta won't include a look at the gallbladder, where as a scan of the upper abdominal organs would look at gallbladder and aorta, as well as other things. Ultrasound also isn't infallible, a bit of bowel gas can obscure it, but this would have been documented in the report.

You're probably right, but I just wanted to make the point.

I don't know why you didn't use the NHS for this, if they really thought it could be a AAA I'd expect a scan within 24 hours or so. As every one else has said it was highly unlikely to be given her age and very normal for slim people to be able to visualise their pulse in their abdomen.

The GP should have done routine blood tests to and would expect them to include liver function treats which may indicate gall bladder issues which sounds much more likely. Does the pain get worse after eating? Typical gallstones are seen in fair, fertile (fat) 40 year olds.
