Has anyone experience with 'Runner's Knee' at any point? What did you do to alleviate the pain? Any advice as to how you stopped it occurring during/after runs?

This morning, after circa 8km last night, my knees gave up and I had to limp home.
I have all but dragged my right leg into work and the left is not much better. The walking style being not dissimilar to a Monty Python sketch.

Some background; it's a somewhat recurring problem with me. I have always had issues with my knees, going right back to when I was a young teenager. I was diagnosed with something called Osgood–Schlatter Disease which was essentially caused by rapid growth. I have visited the GP on several occasions usually with a vague diagnosis of 'Anterior Knee Pain' which, as I understand, is almost a generic term, or Runner's Knee.

Luckily I have private health care through my employment. Privately, I have been able to see several good physios over the years although they have not really achieved anything.

I have worked extensively on leg strength around the knee and having just come out of ski season, my legs are at their peak strength.

Footwear has always been properly fitted at running shops. I've reduced my stride length and subsequently my pace to cut down heel striking to no avail.

Any advice or tuppence worth appreciated gents.
