Had to stop reading the Lily thread ... didn't want to cry in front of my little boy.

Gutted i didn't read this before, but glad i found the thread today.

What horrible news. DMN was a cornerstone of PH to me and this thread was typically candid and made me consider my own health and how easy it is to be too busy to notice signs of a problem.

Rest in peace.

Paul.

I don't post much on PH but was really moved by DNM's posts about Lily's battle with terminal illness. I'm genuinely choked up at the news of his passing at such a young age. Nothing more I can say really. RIP frown

I don't get on PH much these days so am utterly late to this awful news.

Russ and Lily's wedding was the most genuine and lovely affair I've ever been to. It was an honour to be part of it. Such wonderful memories. He was one of life's truly lovely people.

Rest well you fabulous man with wonderful velvet suits.

Oh... hadn't expected that, a sad loss. Don't come on here much now and hadn't seen this thread before tonight. Reading his original thread on here helped me to write the one about my son's illness, still regret not being able to make it to the PH meet at the hospice.

Not much I can add other than to say, rest well chap, far far too early, but rest well.

I didn't know Russell but reading his heartbreaking Lily thread helped me understand the awful few months my closest friend and his now departed wife went through last year. His honesty, bravery and eloquent writing were exceptional.

Thank you and RIP.

Been away on holiday so was unaware and now sitting in shock.

Like many, I never met Russell but I followed his journey with Lily and feel I have lost a friend like so many people here also feel.

Rest in peace.

So sorry for everyone that knew him. Like many others, I knew of him only through reading his inspiring and thought provoking words on here.

RIP buddy. It's no age. frown

How many times reading a thread, did you think, "here we go again" as it descended into bad tempered niggling, when dmn would stroll in and with a few words drop a flowery bomb of perspective into the mix?

Feels weird crying over someone you've not met, but on what would have been my little brothers 33rd birthday (+\- a couple of days) I'm possibly a little thinly stretched. Dmn would undoubtedly have had something useful and nice to say on the subject.

All the best to family and friends.

Beautifully worded, for a whole raft of reasons.

Thank you

Holy moly. Just checked back into this thread as remember reading it when DMN started writing about the attack. The reason being because a close family friend recently died from heart failure, complaining about unfeeling well a week before, so looked back to see what DMN's symptoms were. Read some more of his updates, with his story about the laxative incident in the hospital toilet making me chuckle. So shocked when I flicked to the later posts and realised he had passed away.
Condolences to his family and friends, will now endeavour to read his lily thread.

Goodbye my dearest friend.
There will never be another like you.
It was a privilege to know you.
A friend on Facebook reminded me about this.

One of the finest and most decent people on PH. I remember him well.
