A colleague has been seen a website for a practice offering same day dental implants so instead of waiting three months or so it could be done in a day:

https://www.samedayme.com/

Is this possible? Could one of the dentists on here comment on if this is an established procedure? The cost is quite reasonable - about £2800 per tooth.

Does the £2800 include the air fare?

Hmmmm

Tempting but surely there must be a catch, what about the initial assessment, what if there's an issue afterwards?
Like the idea of a ride in a Roller though biggrin
FWIW, I was quoted £2.5K at my local dentist in Bristol.
One wonders how he gets by in his big detached house and brand new RS4!

I thought you had to wait a few months after the implant post was fitted for the jaw bone to bond to it full strength before they put the final tooth on ? I had one 8 years back and thats what happened then, I know technology gets more advanced but didnt think you could speed up the post to jaw bone bonding.

Well the colleague is only a £100 flight away so it's not too bad.

I also thought it took a month at least for the implant to settle, hence the reason for asking the question on here.

It's called "immediate loading" and yes, if certain conditions are fulfilled, it is a valid technique. It's even possible to have entire full mouth bridge done in this way.

Interesting stuff, I know someone that this could be ideal for... I really hope so!
