As mentioned above; Flexbar and the “Tyler Twist” exercise (Google it).

Fixed mine within a fortnight and has also worked for several friends.

Backed by various scientific studies:

I developed this in early September. Couple of hours painting the rugby club changing room seems to have triggered it and it hasn't gone since.

No grip strength and things like picking up a cup of coffee at arms length are extremely painful. Exacerbated by things like cutting wood. Sleeping isn't easy.

I'm booked in to my sports masseuse/physio on Tuesday. She says she can do something for it, but it is very painful and will require regular wearing of compression bandage and icing to follow it up.

I have been suffering to various degrees for nearly 20 years. Causes, using percussion drills (Electrician by trade) lots of press ups since 10 years of age (Judo etc) and a head on collision back in 2003. This collision (Combined impact speed 100 mph) resulted in hyper extension of my right elbow, the left to a lesser extent. Over the twenty years I have had most if not all treatments and permanently wear a support during waking hours, sometimes when sleeping. At its worst my arm hangs limp and I have to use my left arm for everything.

After many years I managed to get a MRI scan which convinced the medical profession that what I was suffering was what I had been telling them all along. I am now in line for PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma) which I asked for some years ago. I was made to wait as they had no idea what I was telling them should be done and why! They kept suggesting many things all of which I had already tried and failed with. Here's hoping this work when ever I get to the front of the queue.

I had golfers elbow for 18 months. The first lockdown cured it for me - wasn’t able to work so it gave my arm the rest that it needed in order to recover.

not true, and not very helpful.

The mean symptom duration aprox 12 months. Source: https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/28461918/

Your Theraband Flexbar might have helped you, but isn't the proven therapeutic modality. THe reference above has been cited once in a decade and never repeated in other studies. I'm not poo-pooing it, but science needs to be stronger than this.

This fixed it for me. Recommended by an NHS physio.

Anecdotal of course, lest I incur a barrage of links. smile

Yeah sorry.

I’ve had it for years until I started taking glucosamine, tumeric and using a gyroscope power ball. Works wonders for me.

I've had golfers elbow for roughly 2-3yrs - I believe I actually did it in the gym with bad form on bicep curls.

It gets pretty painful when I play golf and I can no longer do pull ups (dont even bother with heavy curls now).

Have had an MRI that the consultant says doesnt relate to the pain I experience - some minor scarring, but nothing major. He's now asked me to go back (today) for a neck MRI (?!). We're also planning to do PRP.

I'd really like to have a pain free elbow again.

(The Theraband didn't work for me).

Amazing. This seems to be working. I got the green one and found a video suggesting to do two or three sets of 15 reps of the twisting exercise. Doing it by holding it close in to get the tension and then extending both arms right out as per instructions seems to be the best way.

It's not completely gone yet but much better. Now let's see if I can muck it up again when I go back in the gym!

Hi all, just found this thread and been suffering from tennis elbow for a while. I've heard good things about the theraband flexbar. Can anyone recommend which colour to get? Thanks.

We've got two, red and green.

Obviously it depends on your age/strength and degree of pain, but I'd go for the green one in the first instance; seems to be about right and suit most people (we've lent it out quite a bit). The red one is rather too light when it comes to twisting it. No experience of the yellow or blue versions.

Good luck!
