Whenever I go to the dentist they always say my back teeth have a lot of wear / erosion. They tell me to stop drinking soft drinks and fruit juice. I point out that I drink neither.

They never seem to suggest anything to fix it. On a couple of teeth there are now a couple of large holes and food gets stuck in them. This is annoying but also I am concerned that this will root the teeth as bits get stuck in there.

Is there anything that can be done privately? I have a dental plan through work which gives £2K cover for private dental fees, although there are limits for each item.

Do you grind your teeth at night?

Not that I am aware of. My wife has never complained and the dentist hasn't mentioned that it looks like I do. They have always said its acid erosion.

Do you have acid reflux? I know you've mentioned in the past that you're 'powerfully built', carrying a few extra pounds tends to kick mine off and it's not good for teeth.

I used to suffer from heartburn quite regularly but knocking booze on the head sometime ago has put a stop to that.
