Folks,

A couple of important apps on my iPad have become greyed out during a recent update... If I click on them it just goes to 'waiting' but nothing else happens. I can't delete them to reinstall!

Any ideas? It's on the latest iOS!

Cheers

This response gets rolled out quite regularly but have you tried doing a reset? (Sleep button and home button pressed as the same time until the Apple logo appears) This can sort a lot of issues. Are you sure the apps still exist?

Thanks, tried that a few times to no avail, I can't reinstall it from the App Store either as it thinks it's already there, most perplexing.

Greyed out icon, it says messenger on it but then I click on it and it says waiting. In the words of Del Amitri, nothing (else) ever happens!

Mine does that when it has run out of memory (so can't download the app).

It will need a fair amount of memory to download it properly (so make sure you have plenty free - far more than you expect).

Thanks all, I've got nearly 10GB left hehe

I think it's the absurdly slow internet here which kept timing it out. In the end the only thing which worked was when a new update came through from App Store automatically and then it updated!
