spent the last two weeks slowly assembling a 3d printer and starting to cast an eye over the cerbera to find out if there is anything I can make or upgrade on it.

Any ideas? Any clever ideas for bonnet hinge mounting points etc

How's about you print a load of scuttle panel clips wink and while your there even some Spring clips that fit in the ashtray to allow it to pivot.

You can imagine what parts I'm currently looking for lol

Edited to add. Even the sun visor mount brackets... This would assist any mk3 owners wanting a better upgrade than the week "blue strip" also an actual visor itself that firs the pivot (owners could then get creative and decorate them as they wish) cabon dip etc

Oh and last suggestion the TVR cerbera flat base for the rear seat to be used in conjunction with the cerbera child seat.

Great thread mate wink

I did some business with a global 3D printing company last year and visited their HQ. Some of the things possible are remarkable, as are the opportunities for different industries!

Thanks Sonny,

Got a message from Topcats yesterday... they sorted my badly repaired original with a new better design they have. They said my good sign was soon to fail so for OCD they did both sides. The fitting look is slightly different they say but no movement now and a close fit!

Thanks again for your offer of help

cool.

Currently I'm trying to get my head round solidworks and simplify 3d. The printer will print in ABS or PLA and some more exotic stuff. You can see all the print materials on the E3d big box site.

Simplfiy will accept any stl files so even free 3d modelling software like adobes 123d will be fine to export in that. Obviously bolster seats for children will be too bog for the printer but if anyones got any .stls of components I could try printing up a batch. The material costs about £30 a kg, so not that expensive, and small components could be printer as many at a time that would fit on a 300*300mm sheet.

Good thread resurrection.

As luck would have it I did my first print last night after spending ages putting the machine together.

Haven't tried dual colours yet. But the first print was for a bracket on a quadbike which held the speedo on.

First print and first success. The bracket works perfectly. Took 22 minutes to print and cost £0.15.

Very happy. My wife on the other hand is having a bit of a problem with how happy I am. She bought it for me and it cost over a thousand pounds so she couldn't quite see why I was dancing around having made a bracket costing 15p

Julian, she'll soon understand your happiness once you do what all good businesses do and remove the p from the '15p' and put a £ sign infant of it! wink

I thought there was a separate thread on this but I can't find it

If anyone is thinking of printing one for themselves, please let me know as I'm warming to the idea of fitting one
