Nope, there's neither quota nor queue and the various other awful stuff happening in the world does nothing to make what you're living through easier, less serious, or less worthy of company and support.

Post as much as you want to. Nobody's reading against their will!

(My tool of choice for trying to settle at the moment is the BBC Scotland wildlife documentaries on iplayer. Safe to doze to, gives brain something to chew on, often actually succeed in falling asleep with it.)

Just as FlyingMeeces has said , your choice to post and ours to read . I go back into work on Saturday with torrential rain and possibly up to 10 inches of snow forecast depending on how the temps go , hauling potential bombs isn't a bundle of fun for me from now until next spring , sometimes I wonder wtf I'm doing this st for rolleyes

Do not dwell or over think things. There's no value in over analysing your situation. As others have said, there will be good days and not so good days, but as time goes on the bad days will be less often and less painful.

Eating and sleeping well will make a huge difference, if you can try and get it into a routine that will help with medication too.

Keep plugging away, one day you'll be using this experience to help others.

'Morning Rob. Like I wrote yesterday, have a go at getting outside, fresh air and sunshine will do you good. Sorry you had a rough night but you've turned one corner and the way ahead is a better one - take the next step, eh?

It this situation, other people's problems aren't yours to consider.

We're here in this thread for you, to try and support you through this illness.

Keep fighting it Rob, it's so much better when you get to the other end.

Honestly with depression you have to be quite selfish, focus on you and what makes you feel good and happy, not the big stuff, leave that till later, but the little stuff.

A cup of your favourite coffee.
A hot shower.
Bit of a walk.

Whatever small things work for you, keep doing them keep enjoying them and focus on the moment.

For getting some shut eye Rob, get yourself a pair of headphones, get comfy and YouTube "WhispersredASMR" - it's a funny old thing, but it's full of relaxing sounds and you'll be nodding off before you know it.

Hi Robster

Chat away to your hearts content old fruit. I had a friend go through very similar to you, and they were saying a lot of similar things to you as well. But we got through it and they are now happy and right back up there.

They were very worried they were a burden to everyone, and they just weren't.

People are actually quite decent really, and as absolutely everyone on here is a testament to, we love to help.

We would love to see a happy Robster - and everyone here is happy to sit and chat and talk and help.

We actively want to smile

There is an end to this, we understand it is hard, but there is an end, and we will put our metaphorical arms round eachother, share the weight, and we will all get there, together.

One little achievable target at a time.

Morning Rob.

If you're feeling down today watch Geoff in this handy motivational video.

Hope that helps and remember that there's loads of people behind you wishing you to have a good day.

Keep your pecker up bloke!

when I was down I wrote in a diary about all the things that I thought were bringing me down

it worked for me

and is quite well documented that it does help

its supposed to order your thoughts in a clear and precise manor rather than a washing machine of negative thoughts in your mind

hope you feel better soon Robbo

Apart from the fact that we know you are struggling and wish things were better for you, and I suspect with no small admiration for how amazingly hard you are fighting to stick around and sort stuff out, you couldn't affect us if you wanted to - people who are also struggling and know they aren't up to reading or joining in will quietly sidle away (and I hope they will start their own posts if that would be helpful).

At the moment I have an alarm set which will go off at 0800 no matter what. And at the very very least at that time I will wake up, sit up, take some medication. It's part of me trying to fix my sleep routine a bit because I have realised it massively affects how I feel and what I can cope with. If I've had a properly awful night I might kip a bit in the day, but making morning be morning is definitely helping.
