Wow what a day of mixed emotions ,ups and downs, went to the bank there was a fire alarm so everyone queuing outside,I couldn't handle the stress of who was going to get served first and my place in the queue I had to leave, that's a new one for me, work phoned although they have my sick notes they need to talk to me,can't face phoning them though. Then had a call from mental health service, they had visited whilst I was out,the positive I'm taking out of it is that they don't think my case is severe enough for their dept, they deal with extreme cases, so I'm going to do concentrate on the cbt
How about an email? "Hiya [name], sorry I missed your call, I'm having some difficulty with phone calls just now - can we discuss things via email?". Go more formal as appropriate for the context, obv, but something along those lines.

Very much this. This is how I dealt with it - sorry can't deal with phone calls right now, struggle to keep It together.... no manager wants to deal with a member of staff blubbing down the phone.

I'd also recommend e-mail, that way you have a record of who wrote what and when.

Good move. If they have an occupational health service at the company you should take use of it though.

You have done well Rob. As a fellow sufferer, in what sounds like similar circumstances, reading this thread has helped me through some difficult days.
Knowing that what I'm going through is normal - it must be as you are feeling it too...
Seeing the superb support on this thread has helped me realise I have nothing to be ashamed of. I go through moments of feeling like a lepper, and that no one will want to be around me as I have mental health issues in case I go wibble.
Seeing you drag yourself out of the darkest depths has also cheered me up on occasions, everyone likes a feel good story right?

So keep going Rob. We're all following this thread for different reasons, but we are all behind you, and you don't know it, but you are behind some of us. (Fnarhehe )

Morning Rob!

Here is to a bright good day!, lets hope it is a good one!

I'm a long way up North, so can't really make any runs in your area without a lot of driving, but if you decide to do some Scottish runs I will do my best to get there.

Just a random thought, have you seen the other thread about the Seasonal lights? S.A.D. lamps. With everything else you have going on, I would not want to add the effects of long periods without light to the mix.

Anyway, onwards and upwards, congrats on the progress you have made!

Having a st day myself to be honest, just one of those days where nothing seems to be going right frown Bought Forza H3, didn't check the min specs and it wont run on my computer, took 45 minutes to get round them M4 J5 roundabout due to completely selfish fking aholes blocking the junctions causing gridlock, updated my phone and the browser wouldn't work so had to hard reset and to top it off got a headache from the stress. Might go for a stroll round Staines at lunch to clear my head.

I think Rob is perhaps underestimating the change he is having in his life and ours. Like a lot of you all I regularly check this thread. I've been speaking to Rob via what's app for over a week now and bless his cotton socks he actually came to my aid last night and today as I was a bit low, and dash me the lad actually speaks sense. I'm more a listener than a talker but he managed to get me to open up today. Something that is very rare as I mask everything with humour to throw people off the sent, but he kept pushing. So he does have that fight in him he just might not see it yet.

So as many have said keep up the good work and thanks again for listening to this mad highland cow.

The thing about is depression you must never get blasé about it.

You have two or three good weeks, think to yourself everything is fine now, something happens and bang, the dark cloud rears it's ugly head again.

Therefore, take one day at a time, and don't worry if you have the odd crap day, most people do, life isn't always a bed of roses.
