Hey Rob, I'm good.

Rent should be sorted with benefits, the UK is well setup to help people when they need it.

If you dont do anything else though please eat and get out for little walks around.

Oh and had a doctors appointment, been signed off for a month, on one hand makes me feel quite ashamed, however the doctor was reassuring saying these things take time , I'm used to being hard on myself, I need to stop being frustrated and wanting a quick fix and take one step at a time I guess

You're poorly. You're allowed to be poorly. You're allowed to need help, to ask for it, to receive it. You're part of a society that cares for people when they need it, safe in the knowledge that when you can, you will do your bit in whatever way is possible, whether that is something that will happen very soon or a bit later. In 6 months time I expect that if someone you can reach is having as bad of a day as your worst days have been, you'll do what you can to help them out. Even not working you're still paying tax as you use what you have, nobody's ever a one-way street in terms of 'contribution' even if sometimes the flow reduces or changes direction for a bit.

Hi Rob, you work for a big company and they should have a proper HR team to be able to deal with all of the stuff in the background as you get back on your feet. You're doing the right thing in forwarding the GP notes as that's all they need for now.

Key is to give yourself time and space to recover and don't be hard on yourself/feel guilty in the meantime. Eat and sleep well if you can. Might be worth setting up a regular supermarket home delivery order so you have food in the fridge that's easy to prepare - healthy ready meals/soups that can be stuck in the oven/microwave would be great.

Getting out and about even for a little bit will help - a stroll to a cafe for a coffee/sandwich and read of the paper

Let me know if you fancy another blast through the Hindhead tunnel. I'm at home Weds/Thursday afternoon if you need anything.

You're doing great so far

Thanks so much and was nice to meet you the other week, your car looked and sounded amazing, maybe I'll grab a ride one day? Most days it's a struggle to post on here , all those thoughts of why should I bother , no one wants to know and then Barny, yourself and others post things that keep me afloat, wish I could pay you back

Anytime time you like for a drive!

A lot of people, including me and others that have posted, have been where you've been and really know how it feels.

Life does get back to being on an even keel, I promise, and you will be stronger in yourself having experienced this period (not that it feels like it at times I bet!). There's no quick fix but each day your brain is quietly processing it all and rebuilding behind the scenes and the good periods start to outweigh the bad ones more and more until you're back on your feet.

The peaks and troughs can be quite extreme in the early days and don't be hard on yourself if the black clouds come over for a bit - try and let yourself accept that this will happen and that it's part of the healing process. You've done tough mudders and distance running so the mental strength is there to handle this in time - in the meantime please don't be hard on yourself.

Have a google on the symptoms of burn out and you'll probably relate to quite a few of them. It's when you just run out of steam with dealing with life crap and the brain says 'enough' and an internal fuse trips. It's a great safety mechanism!

Getting some fresh air/out and about even just for a little bit really does help. Baby steps for now!

Fuse tripping is a perfect way to discribe it , guess I feel useless because even the simplest of tasks is beyond me , it was so nice of you to meet up with us the other day , I'll never forget the journey on the motorway, your smile when we drove past said it all! Would definitely be up for another drive , via the kebab shop of course !
