So how is everybody?

At the moment I'm on a high and a good place, helped by a combination of cbt, good friends and learning to take one day at a time . I've been astounded by the support and kindness of people . For example went out to top golf driving range yesterday and got some excelllent tips and treated to a very decent burger ! , good company and decent chat goes a long way, 3 months ago I wouldn't of left the house!

He will probably be on here soon to state the fact he beat my best score by a significant amount wink

Take care everyone

Great to hear Rob fair play. People have helped you but mainly you've helped yourself

Really enjoyed Friday Rob and great to see you on such good form. I think the golf re-match will be a close one with that swing of yours!

Just found it, PH PMs seem to find their way into my junk folder.

Great news, well done, I'm really pleased for you. Really good to hear that things are so positive. I'm doing Ok too. All the best.

Got my heart medication sorted at last so much reduced fatigue and a lot more energy - can walk for miles now and even stay awake till late! Looks like 2017 is going to be a better year for both of us.

I was telling an old friend about PH the other day, and this thread in particular. So glad it's going so well.

All the best to all. Keep up the good work!

I've read that many people suffer this issue. What was it that made you realise that you had a problem that needed addressing, especially after such a long time?
Sorry for late reply, haven't checked back much. The reason was when I became self employed, I found myself completely isolated, no friends, living alone, working alone. There was no one around to distract me from my deep rooted problems, I only had my negative thoughts for company.

I realised quickly that despite having tried very hard to be on my own, I actually hated being completely alone and I wanted to be with other people, then thought to myself 'Why am I in this situation? - Why does no one like me?'. Then I started to research depression and stuff and over say 3 years I began to understand it, got help and now I'm pretty ok.

It's such a shame because I'm actually a really nice guy biggrin I don't want to say depression ruined my life, but it certainly ruined the first 30 odd years of it. It's also quite a deficit to try and recover from financially. Had I not had these issues I'd be considerably further ahead in my career etc.

Hi guys and gals , just wanted to update this thread, well the very good news is l... im into my third day of my new job!

Complete change of direction for me as I now work for Citroen as a salesman, I love selling, I love cars and hopefully the money potential will be very useful!

A mutual friend recommended me and I felt the interview went well and it did !

I'm still using the techniques I learnt from cbt, I'm finding it's easy to take things personally at work, so I'm learning to have a tough skin and realise I'm not responsible for other people's actions!

Next thing is to see my kids more and more which I'm working towards with my ex.

I can't believe things are on the up and I'm so grateful for everyone's support on this thread, wish I could meet you all and buy you a pint or 3 !

Good news. Well done I hope the job goes well.

If anything I'll help you not to take stuff personally it's working in sales... just got to brush it off and smile for the next customer.

Genuinely wish you every success with it.

Good luck Rob. From one car salesman to another I will give you the advice that this job has it's ups and downs, sometimes you'll feel like you're flying and can do no wrong, other times it's like you're banging your head against a brick wall!

Try and keep your cool and remember that every 'no' is closer to a 'yes' hehe
