Bizarrely, after stretching for a couple of weeks and it stopping, it has just started in the other heel Yes. I find rolling a golf ball under my feet really helps, but christ it's painful a times. Insoles seem to help (Amazon ones rather than proper Orthotics though I would like to try those). I suffer from very tight hamstrings and calves which in turn cause me to have tight gluten and a bad back. I wonder if i am flat footed (Osteo has commented on this) so plan to get booked in to see a podiatrist.
Anyone gone that route of seeing a podiatrist for the above or is this not where their skills lie?

You sound similar to me. Can you touch your toes with straight legs? I can't. I've been wondering about yoga after a colleague recommended it. I do worry that I do so much running and my body will ultimately pay the price unless I take some steps to loosen up more. Anyone gone that route of seeing a podiatrist for the above or is this not where their skills lie?
I have it on and off for the past 12 months. I found the insole support things massively uncomfortable (I do have very sensitive feet though) and seemed to make it a lot worse, lots of gentle stretching helped.
What I found really helpful though were Clarks 'Cloudstepper' shoes & boots. They're very supportive, light and so soft and springy underfoot. I notice a big difference if I don't wear them and wear normal shoes or boots that aren't padded underfoot, my foot soon starts to ache.

I've had it a couple of times the last bout being about 8 weeks ago. I went after it with everything.
- Wore some plantar foot sleeves
- Wore calf sleeves
- Did the ice bottle rolling on the foot 3x a day
- stretched really well for at least 30 minutes twice a day (usually whilst watching TV). This involved IT band, calves, glutes, and everything else
- Used a Lacrosse ball to roll on my foot 4-5 times a day (It is harder than a tennis ball)
- rested as much as possible
It was boring as anything to do, but it cleared up the mild case I had in 3-4 weeks

Is this condition also something that makes your feet want to cramp up and curl in on themselves when laid in bed for example? I also suffer from very sore feet and heels in particular when stood about to the point where it becomes very painful and I need to sit down. In fact even resting my heels on something soft when I'm sat down becomes painful after a short period. Also very painful for me to if I try to raise up the toe end of my week up towards my shins. Don't know if any of this fits the plantar fascitis symptons or not.
