Don't buy a TOM TOM. They're st.
I agree - I bought the Tom Tom runner and it's fking terrible. The battery won't last more than an hour, it's uncomfortable and it looks st too.

Wish I'd bought an Apple watch now for slightly more money!

I use both Apple Watch 2 and Tom Tom watches for running (I'm serious runner at 1000ish miles per week).

Tom Tom is probably better and more accurate at capturing heart rate data but the Apple Watch is very good and the screen is very clear. For some reason the heart rate always seems to start way higher than it should do for about 10 mins before showing accurate data.

For a race, I'd definitely use a Tom Tom over Apple - if nothing else, a touch screen isn't that reliable when you've got sweaty hands / fingers.
You do 143 miles per day on average? How are you not dead?

Ha! Sorry, 100 miles per month I meant!

Surprised at the negative comments about Tom Tom. Not my experience at all.

I have a Garmin FR220, picked up for cheap last year on black friday. I like it, it does the job and has good battery life.

The Apple Watch arrived the other day. They must be selling them as fast as they can make them, as it was shipped direct from China.

One thing I didn't consider is that Mrs CB is a lefty and wears watches on her right wrist. Am I correct in thinking that the Apple Watch can be configured upside down to wear on the right wrist?

I gave my wife the watch for her birthday today and it went down well, it has already been used for a run! I didn't realise that her running friends both have watches too.
