90 minute bike ride has bought me that pizza I have been craving all week and kept me under the days calorie target.

Getting the hang of this,,,

TinRobot - don't beat yourself up over it - an ounce or two is hardly irrecoverable!

You are still going great guns as it is - everyone has little slips. Doesn't make you weak, or poor at coping.

I'm hoping this thread stays like the dry January one and as about a bit of honest support rather than wildly waving and turning into some sort of endurance 'I can put myself through more than you and am therefore the bigger man' that these things can descend into.

That said if you WANT to be told off about comfort eating etc - I'm not the man to come to!

I find popping on the scales once or twice a week helps keep me going and feeling a bit more motivated when I'm a bit cheesed off and hungry

ASIR - Seriously chap, you've got me a little worried. You seem to be trying to crash off 2 kg in a number of days

That is one thing for me, but I am about 1/3rd pure fat. You are very light and there won't be much left.

Please be careful, it all sounds very drastic....

Table moved

Few people really quick out of the blocks - interesting to see how it keeps going after Christmas drops off

I will be on the bike tomorrow and Wednesday for some of the that cold, dark, lonely action (it really is much easier in spring!) - but need to try and judge the upcoming cold snap - my route is rural and largely unlit so high risk of ice and I resulting incident - and I'm just not interested!

ASIR - I am afraid this was always going to be an uphill struggle for you as you simply don't have the spare mass to lose that a lot of us do.

You've been flirting with/crossing the line into pretty dodgy practice already chap, what with talking about professional cyclists and starting threads on what would happen to you if you didn't eat for a week.... I'm not your mum obviously, but just take care, pal!

ASIR - Are you sure you are doing this for the right reasons?

The idea behind the gentle competition was to keep us tubbingtons motivated and on track - the result is really secondary.

I'm going to stop banging on about it now, as you are a grown up and its your body.

But it's 3 months - its not a sprint. It's not first to their target weight.

Even if you are competitive - there is no sense leading the pack at 8 weeks only to hit the wall and feel ill - as you'll just get nowhere in the competition - just quickly!

Stay chilled and stay safe buddy.

righto - ramble over and soap box away!

Another dark, cold ride in. Feeling relatively chipper now though, and should be good for 1000 cals burned I guess. Esepcially as I had:

Shower Stuff
Towel
Shoes
Suit including jacket
Laptop
Notepad

all strapped to my back.

Though every bloody light was red. A shade less slow than I have been too.

Another cold, dark and lonely commute in this morning.

Back up into the 16's on average for the first time since restarting after putting the bike away a year ago - that commute would have been 18-20 back in the day.

There was a bit of a tailwind for a bit of it, but I was still lunking 10 kg around on my back. Should be much lighter this evening as laptop, jacket and notebook etc can stay in the office now.

Stepped on the scales this morning (against my better judgement and no change after an admittedly indulgent Sunday.

That said I did have a big dinner last night as it occurred I had something like an 1800 kcal deficit on the day when I got home. Hopefully it was just the weight of the food

Oh look - a straw *clutches*

I was down to 14 stone on the nose yesterday morning - but wasn't so well behaved as went to Autosport International with my Dad. Maybe 2500-3000 cals for the day....ooops. Still hopefully given the amount of moving about done there will only be limited damage.

Off for a run at lunch and back on the being good bus today and will have another bike ride at the weekend providing the roads aren't too bad

13 stone 13 pounds.

Under 14 stone and under 90 kg.

Run went well. Down from 11.5 minute miles to 10 minute miles - cycling quicker as well. A little weight loss and fitness, but I think it's mostly the confidence.

Weekends are tough to stay on track!
They really are. I can't just lounge round because I start to graze.

So I keep myself busy knowing that I have a healthy chicken jalfrezi and rice to come at 600 cals for the lot, which means I can even have a glass of wine with dinner smile

After a few false starts in the last 6 months, this one feels like its sticking and its becoming more sustainable.

I am not denying myself something like fish and chips if I want it - but I have decided I cannot do it on a whim and just have to look forward to it on Friday or whatever and do the exercise/ eat appropriately in the run up to keep it all in budget

Not giving up on carbs yet, have rice or potatoes and even pasta most days. Just given up on the fat.

Pleased wth the loss so far and will keep going
That's the key. Find your groove and stick with it - if it's working for you that's all you need.

Some people find it easier dropping carbs - I personally wouldn't either and i'm getting on just fine.

Stop snacking then.
I'm afraid there isn't a less blunt way to say that!

I have just got into the mind set that being hungry for a bit won't hurt me, or if I absolutely must have something it is 100 kcals or less if it gets distracting, just to take the edge off. It takes a couple of weeks of discipline to get into it, but you will

Now at 93.6 after 2 weeks - so continuing in the right direction. Dry January and increasing the daily calorie target on Apple Watch seem to be working.

Hope everyone else makes progress this week.
