PHAT fighters Q1 Weight Loss Challenge
Discussion
I just had (a very modest portion of) fish and chips
And there is nothing you bds can do about it!!
(I was at a training thing today and had a modest lunch that was provided. Less than 1 inch of sausage roll, about an inch and a half of a modest chicken roll thing, a tempura prawn and a chip.
I'm probably about evens on the day 15-1600.
Cycling tomorrow and a long run on Saturday, so will probably lose a smidge.

I've ducked out of this mornings butty run (although I usually just order a bacon sandwich and eat just the bacon).
By my standards I had a poor gym session this morning. Legs still in bits from Wednesday morning had an awful effect on my deadlifting performance, struggling to pull north of 200kg. Gave it up as a bad job in the end and concentrated on upper back work with great form.
Finished up with half an hour on the treadmill at a brisk pace, gradually increasing the gradient to 15%, still managed 543 calories so not a wasted session. In my defense its the end of the week, rest day tomorrow and its well needed.
I also suspect I'm feeling the sustained effects of restricted calorie intake (generally <2000 p/day).

Following with interest even if I'm not actively taking part - they are doing a similar challenge at work and after the first week people are reporting some really impressive losses, like 8% of their entire bodyweight in 1 week, I managed 0.7%.
That's nuts to the point of not believable....HTP99 said:
Getting a bit pee'd off at the moment as I seem to have put a kg on, still exercising as hard, still not drinking; ok the weekend was heavier than the week for food but generally it has always been like that, during the week I am very good.
Situation back to losing weight, obviously my weekend food excess (mainly bread based), resulted in the blip, this morning I was below my official weigh in, off out with work tonight so it'll probably go up again (no booze though).Vocal Minority said:

I have managed about 14 percent, but it has taken since early September. For me to do 8 percent in a week I would need to achieve a calorie deficit of 10,000 per day, if I only ate 1000 calories, I would need to then burn 11,000 through exercise, at a fairly high intensity I would need to do 14 hours per day. Is your colleague Eddie Izzard during his Marathon a day thing ?
Did he way himself first time round in clothes, with his backpack on then naked, after a good dump and not eating all week ?
Are any limbs absent ?
I've emailed the lady looking after things to ask if the top 10 can give the rest of us a motivational speech and tips on what they are doing, no reply as yet so I'm starting to think her calculations might be off. If it had just been one person I would have said cheater (and there is a prize for the biggest loss and no checks as far as I'm aware) but the % of start weight list looks like:
1. 92.19%
2. 94.74%
3. 95.26%
4. 95.32%
5. 95.48%
6. 95.66%
7. 95.72%
8. 96.08%
9. 96.30%
10. 96.32%
We only get visibility of the top 10 and as I'm not in there I can't compare with my own maths, week 2 numbers will be interesting to see though, presumably the chap in the lead will be at 86%.
Or maybe I've missed something but "% of start weight to date" seems fairly clear to me, even 10th place would be a near 4kg loss for someone at 100kg to begin with right?

I reckon the sums are wrong.
Unless there is a target weight and that is the percentage of the gap?
No target weights being considered, just a start weight and then a second weight a week later, so those figures can only be based on two numbers. The whole idea is that none of us know what fatties each other are, just how much we are losing as a percentage.Unless there is a target weight and that is the percentage of the gap?

This looks good, however expensive. I think there is a discount code (METRO20 or something, from the metro newspaper).
Hopefully weighing myself tonight, not expecting a big change TBH had a very up and down week. Might try one thing i did before which was to eat the same food at the same time everyday. It means the body learns how to process the food and everything becomes more regular.
Well done everyone.

Then the Sums are definitely wrong - unless your office is full of people who look gaunt and emaciated - or have been eyeing up your kg as they might a steak....Gassing Station | Health Matters | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
