Well done everyone. Just been questioned why mu lunch was the size of a pack of crisps!
Some key points:
1) It is good to be hungry depends how hungry
2) We are not going to suffer from eating less true within reason
3) Drink more water agreed
4) Going to bed hungry is more positive than going with full stomach define positive?
5) Being hungry is good, it means you are not adding weight true, but health cannot be boiled down to weight alone
6) Try to eat to 75% of your stomach, leave some room for some water and to help your digestive system fair argument
7) Women like healthy men they do
8) Women like wheepspins and loud stereos the best ones need more impressing than that - also a shade off topic!
9) Being attractive is good for self esteem, well being and the wife (keeps her on her toes) true, true and I bet she loves that....
10) Yes it is hard, but so is everything else yep
11) Yes it does hurt but it is more mental than physical yep - but it can be done pain free .
...and waits to be berated...

Update time!
We have lost 2.6% on average so far.
That's 75 kg overall - or Smitters!
We still collectively weigh above 4 tonnes, but I reckon by the end of the month we'll be starting with a 3.

No change so far this week.
Have got a 3.3 mile Lunch time run with colleagues which I have done once a week with colleagues in order to supplement cycling - have taken pretty massive strides - taking minutes off my run. From an 11 and a bit minute mile, to a 10 and a 9.30 yesterday.
That's encouraging. And this jacket now fits too

I just had (a very modest portion of) fish and chips
And there is nothing you bds can do about it!!
(I was at a training thing today and had a modest lunch that was provided. Less than 1 inch of sausage roll, about an inch and a half of a modest chicken roll thing, a tempura prawn and a chip.
I'm probably about evens on the day 15-1600.
Cycling tomorrow and a long run on Saturday, so will probably lose a smidge.

Following with interest even if I'm not actively taking part - they are doing a similar challenge at work and after the first week people are reporting some really impressive losses, like 8% of their entire bodyweight in 1 week, I managed 0.7%.
That's nuts to the point of not believable....thetapeworm said:
No target weights being considered, just a start weight and then a second weight a week later, so those figures can only be based on two numbers. The whole idea is that none of us know what fatties each other are, just how much we are losing as a percentage.
Then the Sums are definitely wrong - unless your office is full of people who look gaunt and emaciated - or have been eyeing up your kg as they might a steak....Surprisingly light this morning at 191 lbs
So already knocking on the door of a stone lost.... Feels a bit much. I was probably reading a little high at Christmas because of lots of salty good and booze and I am probably a shade dehydrated today
It's all going in the right direction anyway
86.5 kgs

As if to prove my point - guy doing his time trial practice down on his aero bars came off literally as I was along side him (for the sake of completeness I was no where near him and was most of the way over the white line!)
Fortunately the people behind pulled up in time, fortunately he had lots of room and I looked over at him just as he started to lose it so I was able to move right over. Pulled over and ran back to make sure he was ok and the road was so greasy, moisture and a bit of mud and it felt so slick. He was down on his aero bars and the front just went.
He was ok once the shock subsided, bit of bruised arse and pride (bike was ok) - scared the st out of me though - the guys behind did very well to pull up smartly too.
But yeah - that's why I am weary of cycling this time of year!

Huntsman - use that to figure out how many calories it takes to run your body. This is the calories you use to keep everything running sat down in a nice warm room.
Mine is about 1900.
Once you know what that is, any other physical activity you do on top of that - you'll probably knock off another 300 or so moving about day to day depending what you do.
Then - I am afraid this is the PITA part - you need to calorie count with painful detail what you consume. Down to the last drop of milk in your tea and rasin you eat as a snack. That will instantly give you a reference for what you want to cut out - its actually quite a useful exercise.
For example - I do not like white bread enough for it to take out 8% of my calorie in take per slice. Not worth it - so I found it easier to ditch on that basis.
Start off aiming for a deficit of 500, and once you are getting used to that, move toward a daily intake of 1500.
Vegetables are great (if fking boring) because they have so few calories in for the quantity. Also nutirents and all that other caper I don't pay as much attention to as everyone thinks I should.

Back up a pound or more today, despite being pretty rigorous but it is just fluctuations, I know I am doing it right so will come off.
Bottled cycling in today, roads looked a bit shiny.
This morning I was up a kilo from my weigh in, really pissed me off as yesterday I did a 4.5 mile run and a 2.5 mile dog walk I had a late breakfast of poached egg and beans on toast skipped lunch (due to the late breakfast) and ate gammon in the evening, did bootcamp this morning, afterwards and before breakfast l weighed myself and I'm bloody up!Bottled cycling in today, roads looked a bit shiny.
3.3 mile run done today - didn't have to stop, so little milestone!
