That depends. Were you still within your calories for the day? If so, no problem. Additionally, how low are you keeping your fats? Granted, the fats in corned beef likely aren't 'healthy' fats, but you do need fats in your diet regardless.

I'd concur... Okay for an occasional thing, but not great really.

On the rare occasion I eat anything pre-made (oven chips, etc), I always look for the ones under 5%.
Dont go too low on the fats, long story short, a while back I did and my Bile duct kind of stopped working as there was no bile flow due to a super low fat diet, bile duct blocked and that causes a world of pain, literally, they thought it was Gallstones, eventually with the help of a Pizza and kebab, it cleared itself like a blocked drain (wont go into details but not pleasant wink)

Had an MRI, Colonoscopy, Gastroscopy, the works, at one point I was turning yellow, was in a bad way and w as lucky it cleared itself, one good thing was a scan of my liver which, despite my best efforts was in fine fettle, showing no ill effects, scaring, fattiness etc, not bad for a tubby bloke who likes his beer, I was expecting a George Best speech from my consultant, he just said eat more fat, consistently if dieting and I am fine to continue drinking at the level I am as it isnt a problem based on my liver and general health, never had a doctor say eat fat and drink beer before !

Feeling pretty lean after cycling to work, 14.11, hoping to drop down to 14.9 by the end of the week, on the way to my 14 stone goal, cycling does seem to make a massive difference, concentrating on my diet and being thinner make it more noticeable.

You know it makes sense !

Knew the cycling would pay off, 14 st 8 this morning, new PB, well since about 2004 it is.

20 percent body fat according to my scales.

Going to aim to get more miles in cycling, bloody love it, doesn't feel like exercise, urge anyone to try it. I came back to it maybe 8 years ago, makes me feel like a kid again and it melts the flab, I stop cycling, weight plateaus, few days cycling to work, one long ride at the weekend, down two pounds.

Ok, this is where I am now, no before but I was fatter, pretty happy really, another stone or so still to go but I dont think I look particularly fat now, but want to be properly lean, only took the photo to send to the missus to see how much of a cock I looked in that T shirt.

Hoping the photos actually appears !

Dead on 100kg this morning, nice consistent loss at the minute. Cardio has really improved, clothes starting to hang (need new ones).

Still eating well, plenty of protein and carbs smile

99.65kg this morning! Finally under 100kg. Bit surprised really as I wasn't feeling particularly lean this morning, as we've said before, consistency is key (in my case calorie management).

10.9% loss, one week to go (ish) - hopefully knock a little more off in that time.

Just checking in Phat Fighters. Tabulated results seem to have gone out the window, but in any case I weighed in at 87.9Kg last night. Thats a 10.7% total loss, and an average 1.88lbs per week.

Awesome Fred! over 10% in 3 months with a nice healthy average loss per week.

Be really interesting to see the final tabulated results (nudge nudge) and also those who may have fallen off the wagon along the way.

yeah, i was actually quite surprised at the scales last night - been away with work last few days so didn't have an awful lot of control over what I ate (supplied lunches at meetings, others choosing restaurants etc - so i had a curry and a pizza over the weekend). Couple of weeks to go until the deadline (i'm working to a 9th April target date as opposed to April 1st like the thread is aimed at) so maybe squeeze another 2kg or thereabouts out of my fat reserves.

I weight lift personally and find that I don't actually lose much weight because when I up protein and training I substitute fat for muscle. I've experienced this effect many times over the years however I do know I'm making progress from the mirror, measurements and the general fitting of my clothes.

I'm doing very well I reckon!

Without wishing to pick this apart, I'm a little confused. Surely if you're losing weight you must be in a calorie deficit and its not actually possible substitute fat for muscle at the same??. As I understand you can lose weight to bring out developed muscles underneath or you can eat a small calorie surplus and use that extra energy to build new muscle whilst hopefully not putting too much fat on as well.

The reason to eat increased protein while dieting is to minimise muscle loss isn't it?

Happy to be corrected If I'm wrong, this is a learning process for us all.
