Love swimming and cycling, loath running but for the over all achievement I would put up with it. And by going public here and on Facebook so I can't back out.

Looking for a local club to here in Tring, but any other pointers.

I have a good road bike and gear to use and slowly convert and happy to invest in clothing as and when I need it.

Did my first last yr, really enjoyed it & like you I'm not a great or enthusiastic runner, time wise tho I think it's the most important element unfortunately, but when just for fun it doesn't really matter.

Focus on your weaknesses, don't go too mad too begin with (hrs/distance wise), keep consistent in your hours week to week and most of all enjoy it all!

When's your first race and what distance are you racing? Is it an open water/sea swim or a pool based event?

Good tri thread in the sports section, by the way thumbup

As a running hater who now runs 5k three times a week and is starting to enjoy it the couch to 5k (C25K) program is a good starting point. It will get you running for 30 mins solid after 9 weeks.

I some respects I'd quite fancy aiming towards doing something like a triathlon myself as I've always enjoyed cycling but I' absolutely rubbish at swimming an hate doing it. I've heard of things called duathlons which have running and cycling but no swimming so maybe one of those is for me one day smile
