Circumcision for phimosis
Discussion
Also the other thing the specialist mentioned is that for my case, I will have no inner foreskin left or any frenulum (a low cut). That's a pretty big sacrifice. Is this the case for anyone? How does this feel then in the pleasure department?

We are treading over worn ground here but currently you have a condition which, untreated, means you are sacrificing any chance at a sex life and the inevitability that the condition will worsen and treatment in the future will be more invasive. Edited by Z064life on Friday 24th March 22:57
Take the help they are offering you. The sex will be fun when you get there.
So the plot thickens!
I got a second opinion and saw a specialist, said I don't need a circ, haven't got bxo (no symptoms). Did a much more thorough examination and I think he was able to retract my foreskin more than me. I was very uncomfortable so I told him to stop but he was able to stretch the foreskin very far forward and laterally (sideways), like I've done. Based on him doing that and looking inside, he does not think there is any bxo.
Suggested the prepuce (overhang) is slightly tight but not tight enough to prevent retraction. Will be forwarding me to a "world expert" on penile skin for techniques on stretching and creams I can try.
Very happy with the consultant, very detailed in his exam (not just on the specific complaint, but checked my abdomen, testicles, etc, did a whole checkup of the area), very patient with all of my questions. I guess he could have said I need surgery and then pocketed the money from me having it done by him?
Suggested that I could get a partial circ or prepuceplasty if I'm not happy with the stretching, and happy to discuss those options in more detail if I come back.
Worth trying this route before any surgery of course, so that's what my plan of attack is now.

Holy thread resurrection!
A year ago I had the camera up the willy to check my bladder, before I went under the consultant said I had BXO. Nothing else mentioned about it, I thought it would go away.
My frenulum then broke a few times, and sex got difficult and my foreskin got itchy and tight. Also I have scarring which has suddenly
Had a consultation in the week with Mr Lane who was hilarious but said I needed circ asap. He said himself it was inevitable. Hopefully things will improve after this. I had the camera up the willy a year ago, but the consultant (not Mr Lane) did not find anything wrong. I have issues with needing to wee a lot at night.
Just posted for posterity and will update in a month when the op is done.

Also cut as an adult, was about 19 or so for phimosis.
Recovery is painful particularly at night, the foetal position will be your friend as it relieves pressure.
Also sorry to disappoint, but the swelling will go down lol.
Have to say I’ve never been disappointed in the end result, sex life continues to get better and I’m now well into my 30s.
One tip - research what type of circ you want, some can remove very little, others more and see if the surgeon can accommodate.
Best of luck

As Alan B commented, night times are uncomfortable.
My tail isn’t so rosy. I was 23 and single due to not being able to perform. The pain was too great having split my foreskin a few times with a previous g/f.
The 1st time I had the surgery, yes, you read 1st time correctly, it wasn’t done correctly.
The NHS Registrar only removed half the skin, leaving my knob more constricted than it was before.
I told him before I left the hospital that I knew he’d done it wrong, but he wouldn’t have it. Stitches started falling out the next day…. fking hell.
Night times were terrible for me. Excruciatingly painful. I cried most nights. I was off work for about 2 weeks as I had an infection too.
The 2nd time I went private as work had just given us BUPA cover.
I went to a local specialist for a private appointment and he told me that I’d definitely need corrective surgery. I knew what to expect, but it was cleanly and perfectly executed. Op was on Thu, I was back to work on Mon, no problem.
A couple of months later I had a new girlfriend (I really couldn’t date whilst I was suffering and in between surgeries….) and I couldn’t wait to try it out properly. She told it it was definitely working ok.
PLEASE speak with the surgeon before you go under. Please don’t accept a “half a job”. I shouldn’t have gone home when they discharged me the 1st time, and forced another opinion and correction immediately. It would have saved a lot of pain and depression.

Similar experience. I was done in my early 30's due to Lichen Planus which I think was a secondary issue due to lifelong Phimosis..wish I would of got to it much earlier but till the Lichenplanus reared its head (pardon the pun), I assumed the tightness was normal. I tried Steroid creams for a year in the hope I could avoid the cut at all costs....honestly the thought of it alone scared me sh*tless. A year and multiple steroid creams later plus some advice from a medic in the family and the risk of developing penile cancer decided it for me. Went private via work medical insurance. There were some minor complications and the sensitivity during recovery was a nightmare but no regrets and one of the best decisions I ever made, sex life was improved a LOT too and much easier to keep the tools of the trade clean.Recovery is painful particularly at night, the foetal position will be your friend as it relieves pressure.

I will add for balance that there is no need for a circumcision unless you NEED it, I did as my Phimosis was quite bad and the Lichenplanus kept returning. Post-cut those issues resolved.

I split my frenulum a few times a while ago and opted for a frenuplasty which removed it thinking I'd be back in the game. I've always had a longish foreskin anyway but had no other issues prior to it. If anything the operation made pulling it back harder when errect initially but it seems fine now. Think I have lost some sensation so wish I'd not had it done or gone the full hog maybe. I have been using it more recently than I ever have since the op and noticed I feel more sore when being played with. Discovered using lube which has been a relevtion either by myself or with others. Felt like my life was wasted till that point 😂 I've always been able to mostly hold myself back so things haven't changed there.
Have also had recent needing to wee feelings as well that affected my sleep and shagging. I recommend bladder training, cutting down on caffine and pelvic floor exercises.
