Blimey! From heart attack to triple bypass in 2 weeks and 2 days?
You lucky lucky Pistonheader!!!
Good luck, OP.
That's a torrid tale of frustration. I do feel fortunate getting sorted pretty swiftly. The doctors keep reminding me I'm not as well as I feel so now I'm bored and just want it done. You lucky lucky Pistonheader!!!
Good luck, OP.
Today is a mix of nerves and anticipation!
Thanks all for your good wishes. I've had such a lot of good wishes I feel a lucky chap.
I'm shaved (all over), showered, polished, tested and ready to get a gown on later as I'm #2 on the list.
Seen so many doctors over the last 24 hours it's all becoming a blur of strange words and terms.
Now getting into a calm chilled state of mind and putting faith in some very clever people.

I had a joke rehearsed about the countdown, when the anaesthetic starts to act and they ask you to count backwards from ten. "I'm good at this, I can get as far as nine."
It didn't get that far. I was away with the fairies.
Don't worry if you're not up to communicating until tomorrow. We're with you in spirit.
See you when you wake up with some new plumbing.
My mum had it recently, first 24hrs felt rough then actually felt OK from then. Get knackered quickly for first few weeks but as other poster says via structured training you get better quickly.
Consistency pisses over intensity remember

What a confounded nuisance.
My delays were early on. The junior doctors' strike delayed my angiogram and then the operation was delayed by the surgeon having an unexplained personal problem. Luckily it wasn't a mid-life crisis with him deciding to abandon medicine in favour of being a Traffic Warden and the operation went ahead a few days later than originally planned.
Yours will be tomorrow. I'm prepared to bet a pound on it.

I'm an in patient who is passed off with hospital food and no fresh air.
Reschedule 1st on list on Thursday so could be much worse.
On my first night I saw an a la carte menu. Never saw it again but it might be worth asking.Reschedule 1st on list on Thursday so could be much worse.
Yes, the regular food is dire. Luckily for me, I lost my appetite.

Same here Dicky. I went from 12 stone 7, to 11 stone 3 in a week. The only things I wanted to eat was fruit. The one thing the hospital didn't offer much of, was fruit. Doh.
Fruit, yes. Couldn't get enough.I'm still eating way more than I did before. Marvellous thing the human body, giving subtle hints on what to eat.
I didn't drop that much weight, a bit over half a stone. The hospital scales measured a stone different to our bathroom scales so I thought initially I'd dropped a stone and a half!
When I decoded my discharge papers I found - among other horror stories - that I was borderline diabetic and borderline cholesterol-something-or-other. No one has lectured me on diet. I have two copies of a pie chart of a healthy diet but no one pinned me down and said, "Stop eating rubbish." As it happens, thanks to my wife, my diet wasn't too bad but the medics don't know that, no one has asked or advised.
Dicky C: 'pie chart of a healthy diet', very good
I was in Pembury recently for a stent and the food didn't look bad tbh. 24 years ago in Stanmore I'd ask people to bring food, or cash a cheque so I could get some at the Aspire (sports) Centre cafe. It's like an F1 team getting the smartest people, the best equipment, then putting paraffin in the car. And still doing it.
All the best for tomorrow OP, remember to be (a) patient. Would recommend eating though, even if it's not great.
