Could do it a few years back when I did muay thai, Sandy my teacher had the record for most in 60 seconds and was big on push ups.

Haven't tried recently, I'll give it a go...
At a recent interclub Sandy Holt demonstrated his pressup skills the guys is a machine I am convinced cant remember how many he did but it was insane he was cracking them out like mental. One of our guys tried to keep up with him and collapsed in seconds biggrin

But he weighs as much as my left ear and doesn't carry any excess weight. He is also a bit of a weirdo smile

Aye, but fair play, he must be late 50s now.

No denying the mans fitness, but you don't get where he's got by being sane!

All meant in the nicest possible sense though obviously smile

I've nearly finished the 16 week course on http://www.iwantsixpackabs.com

My friend has completed it - very good course.

Don't need to be a gym monkey, can do it all at home/outside.

Before I couldn't even do 1 pull up or more than 10 pressups. But this work out strengthens your back and stomach muscules so you don't end up hurting yourself.

By the time you get to week 16 you're doing pressups with 20KG+ on your back, and pull ups with the same weight...

1 arm pressups are not a problem either.

However, you are better off doing a pressup like this, as it is much better for your wrists in the long term.

I would struggle to do more than about one. Why I'd want to spend my time face to the floor hurting my arms when I could be sat on the sofa drinking wine and listening to music is beyond me.

Must admit I thought I would get flamed for suggesting this, seems quite a few people are up for it.

Have an easy day today, and the fun can begin tomorrow !

Try sit ups, like when reaching for said wine, or the remote.

I can do between two and three hundred press ups in five minutes without a break.

That is 2 and 300. Usually about 6 or 7 before I collapse. getmecoat

This sort of thing really pisses me off, because it shows that no no bugger is bothered that they cant manage something that should be a walk in the park,it also seems some of you need a few walks in the park.
This is the sad shocking sate of the countrie`s health as a whole.
there are far too many overweight people about,no fk overweight it`s FAT,compared to twenty years ago.
Sorry but it seems a lot of people are just damn lazy plain and simple.
when I was a schoolboy you had to do at least 55 per minute in our atheletics/gym classes.
Remember at the end of it all your body is YOUR responsibilty,no one elses.
not to mention the massive burden on the all ready over stretched health services.
every kid in my class could do it,two lads would race and some times crack off high 60`s.
Now even though I keep fit, swimming every day 20 lengths for about 18 years plus a 5 mile round journey to the baths on bicycle can now manage only 46 per minute,(37 years old)
44 per minute with a clap of hands at the top or 36/37 per minute one handed alternating left right.
but at about 70 it really gets hard, timed at 1min 38s.
In the second minute you will probably drop to a third of the first minutes total.
BTW I have bolts and screws holding my wrists together, which should make it harder for me than most others.
The state of peoples health in this country is shocking and the ph massif are probably a good cross section of types. but it seems even people who consider them selves fit are sadly lacking,I have mates who can`t run 200 yards!!
you should be able to manage at least 40-50 push ups in two minutes never mind alone overall.

I generally do between 90 and 150 a day. Sets of 30 usually, sometimes 40. And i tend to do them fairly slowly, rather than just bang them out...

Not sure about the 100 in one go... might try in a minute...

100 sounds doable for someone very strong and fit. I think teh world record is in the region of 1500

I can do 20 and am 14.5 stone and not in great shape.
