Ok, I'm in!
I managed 33 for the test... then watched this video (thanks for that link!) ...
Just watched stand I am doing them "wrong" as well. But he says doing it wrong is really bad, but doesn't explain why. Is it less efficient (i.e. harder to do)? or more likely to cause injury? or just that he doesn't like it?I managed 33 for the test... then watched this video (thanks for that link!) ...

I couldnt ever do pushups until I saw this video and realised I was sticking my arms out to the side and therefore doing it 'wrong' according to this techinque. Now I find them quite easy.
Can still only do 25 max mind.

Having super wide elbows is more risky for your elbow and shoulder. It’s not very efficient either. gregs656 said:

I have a shoulder injury that may have been worsened as a result of doing lots of pressups.I now need to tuck my elbows in quite tight to avoid problems.
I doubt that many people are doing pressups with good form or going low enough.

Ditto. In My martial arts class we were doing 200 or so press-ups of various sorts interspersed with other stuff. Shoulder started to hurt - damaged rotator cuff and shoulder bicep tendon. Shoulder injuries take months to heal.Ayahuasca said:

I am going to be a bit more wary of doing g too much pushing and not enough pulling(rowing) in future.
