Right, Doctor doesnt know whats wrong with me so i might as well let you lot have some fun and diagnose me.

Yesturday while boarding in Austria i had difficulty breathing, and if I had to breath heavily it would start a coughing fit. This morning i found it difficult to breath without thinking about the act of breathing. It was like my lungs couldnt be arsed with the work.

So this morning i found i have had an ECG, a chest xray, blood tests and a lung power test.

Lungs are well down on power for my age (27) but everything else is normal. (bp 143/89)

I can taste blood ( i think) and sometimes a metalic taste when i cough.

So, hit me. what have i got?

im going with bad aids but the doc didnt know what it was.....

Asthma?
Pneumonia?
Broken a rib (this can happen through just coughing) and interfering with breathing?
Had a chest X-ray?

Sounds serious, don't get fobbed off. A friend of mine went to his GP with breathing
problems and general (serious) malaise and was told there was nothing wrong with him.
Ended up in A&E with pneumonia, nearly died. Don't panic though but you've got to get
a diagnosis.

Is it difficult to bend over? If so, you may have swallowed your board.

Asthma? - doc said symptoms are similar but it is not asthma
Pneumonia? - said my xray shows my lungs are fine
Broken a rib (this can happen through just coughing) and interfering with breathing? - xray was fine.
Had a chest X-ray? - yup see above

thanks Oversteer, not given up and neither has doc yet..... he gave me a inhaler to make the bronci(sp) (medical things in lung) work better for time being. He is ringing me on wed to check on me.. Got to love the German efficiency sometimes.

Yup was going to say Asthma as well. Blood possibly just due to rupturing a few small blood vessels with the coughing . Mild altitude sickness ?

It could be a brand new condition! Hey you'll be famous (and brown bread), it could be named Lord Pikey's Condition!

So, on diagnosis, you have a rare condition we now know called Lord Pikey's condition.

I wouldn't worry - I have a horrific cough which entails small amounts blood coming out and green gunk and not being able to breathe for bits. It's just part of the common cold - worse than normal. They've checked it out and not found anything - gfive it a few days and it still not happy - go back
