If you're one of these types who are very strong and bulky then using 10 would probably give good results as you can pull hard without having to maintain a high stroke rate, which can be difficult if you're particularly big. Whereas if you're built more like a whippet and can't pull that hard then using level 4-5 would be best as you can take advantage of your low weight and agility to maintain a higher stroke rate. I liken it to a V8 sportscar and a motorbike - both may have similar power outputs, but the torque is very differently applied. Low revs/high torque vs High revs/low torque

Back to the gym yesterday (A new one opened that I can see from the end of the driveway. Hard to find excuses not to go)
I only got 500m before the nausea told me to stop. When I get to 2000m I will post up a time! (Focus on the when!)

Went out on the water yesterday evening. Yes, that's right, real ater, real boat. All I can say is "fantastic". It was a beautiful evening and that feeling of cutting through the water, the effort being translated into something other than a few numbers and a sickening feeling, was very good. I'm hooked again but watch your backs with the C2 times all the same

Unfortunately we were training for a 500 metre sprint in the 8 which meant furious stroke rates and the onset of regatta lung!

Hi, only just noticed this thread, have a concept 2 at home, use it a couple of times a week at a comfortable pace, never really push myself but just did a 5000m in 19:51, Will have a go at a fast 2000m and 500m for the purposes of this thread though Edited to add I'm 22 bang on 6 foot and about 98kg, I need to catch up with you older blokes.

I just did a fairly random distance, 4k. Was intending to do 10k, and was keeping up a steady 2min pace, but my legs were feeling terrible, so cut it short.
We've got another gym challenge on for next month, team based - 24 mile run, 48 mile ride, 48 mile row. One person per element. If I can't find a suitable team, i'll have to do the whole bleedin' thing myself ....

I'll make sure the rower is on 10, and stick in my 500m time. I didn't record it yesterday but it started with a 2, so I'll not be troubling the leaders!

I can do a 1.45 ish 500m or probably less but I then find myself dropping off the pace later and stuff my 2000m time.

I get the irony taste, also my teeth hurt. There was a discussion about what causes it in one of the other threads. clonmult said: But you didn't puke, so therefore you could have pushed a little harder ....
