Could have you not just done 5k at snails pace to make the achievement ?

I'm on 18800m for the year so far.

Do you mean for the season (May '16 - April '17) or since Jan 1st?

I was thinking 18k isn't much since May laugh

Just finished a 13k session which brings my total this year to 23k, and I've only done two sessions.
Almost at 500k since I started last March.

Operation on my foot at the end of this month is going to hamper progress for 6 weeks, but I'm looking at ways to row one legged...

64 mins

It was a fat burn low rate - 23 s/m max (UT1) in 3 x 20 min intervals with 2 min rest between pieces.

I don't tend to set a distance and see how quick I can go unless it's the standard 100, 500, 2k etc.

So you're rowing at about 2:18 / 500m pace ?

I've set 2:30 / 500m as my cruising pace . Will try a longer run over the weekend and see what I can cope with on a longer distance.

Yes roughly

My last half marathon pace was 2:16 so pretty consistent for the longer distances
Hoping these longer distances will help get my 2k split down to 1:50 eventually

What I'm finding now, is if the quality of the drive is good and hard the metres shoot up whilst keeping the rate low.
Kills the legs though...

Only 19k for me so far this year, that has only consisted of the CTC (4x4 minutes, 4 minutes rest) and a couple of 100m attempts.

I'm feeling sluggish, the 100m was 15.7, that's a 1:18.5 average.

Ticked over 20k on Saturday, had a day off yesterday.

I tried the 2k on Saturday as a line in the sand, and struggled.

Plan is to get some longer slower sessions in this week.

Just completed my first 10k in 48:44 , set the pace boat at 2:30 / 500m and still had loads left in the last 1000m hence the time.

from somewhere I have actually found a bit of motivation to get off my fat arse and get back on the Erg.
I have even put new batteries in the computer. I have followed this thread for sometime and I hope that I can gain some inspiration from others efforts.

What's a decent speed/time to do 2,000m in, not balls to the wall, not sedate, but a good end of sesh finisher.

You should be aiming for sub-6 minutes Halb.

Just throwing my belated hat into the ring so to speak.

42 year old male, reasonably fit/active; just done a 7:22.3 2000m. Not exactly world record pace I know but I'm aiming to get below 7 minutes this year. Will try to update as/when I remember.

I take it that Halb is a bit of a sub 6 beast then.

Jumped back on the rower this morning for a 2k blast. Last year I seem to recall getting close to 7 minutes (7:10 ish) so was interested to see where I was at.

7:34, although the first 1500 felt quite easy and I only really pushed in the final 500. Hoping to see sub 7 in a couple weeks.

Well I am pleased to say I used the Concept 2 in my office for the first time yesterday.

I needed to change one of the office light fittings and I found that standing on the erg gave me just the right height.
