I'm not saying get Pro Peptide smile it was delivered today so i'm just having a shake now. Vanilla flavour with milk. Not bad.
There's optimum health whey at 27 delivered on the site which i guess isn't a bad price.
Whats the weight of that buddy and do you have a link?

Thanks
Lee

Optimum health? 2.27kg http://www.discount-supplements.co.uk/sports-suppl...

Pro peptide offer I bought, 2.27kg. It does say 35 servings tho. I guess it says 35 servings based on the guide amount they say you should take per day.

This seems like a decent deal - £30 of RRP because it's short-dated

On Radio 4 this afternoon there was a medical program that talked about Protein Shakes and whether they were any good.

Basically if you want to build muscle and youre expecting miracle results then you're going to be disappointed. The only thing that will do that is the amount of training you put in.

As to using it for recovery there is some benefit but there is just as much benefit from drinking milk!

You can listen to the program here http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b01gg7gq its the last ten minutes of the program.

I think you have to be doing a pretty vigorous workout and burning a lot of energy to make proper use of protein and bulking supplements. It's just a convenient way of taking in the right levels of nutrition for your body to process when it needs it.

Are protein shakes getting sweeter?
I've started experimenting with a few brands again. And they all seem horribly sweet. Far sweeter than I recall.
I have a sweet tooth, love the sugar in its right place, but the protein drinks on the market now seem chock full of that nasty sweetener flavour.
Any recommendations for brands that don't make you wanna vomit?

Muscle Pharm Combat all day long for me these days - not too sweet and the cookies & cream flavour is probably the nicest protein shake I've had.

Ive been using Matrix Gold Anabolic Whey, which has really good nutrition and decent price, but leaves me feeling bloated afterwards. So much so if I have it after I train at like 7.30pm, I can't eat my tea at 8.30pm.

So changed to Bodybuilding Warehouse Performance Mass as Im trying to put some weight on, higher calories and carbs but goes down so much easier and no bloat.

Dr Zakks protein bread available in my local tesco, two slices gives 30g of protein. Nut butter on this, a great change from a whey shake.

Really? I am passing Tesco's today. I may drop in and have a peak. it is a small Tesco though and their range tends to be petty crappy.

Not all protein is created equal. Meat/whey/eggs/dairy have protein with a complete amino acid profile, eating protein from bread/nuts is a poor substitute but still worth eating if you don't rely on it entirely.

Thought I'd try soy protein, and being the tight arse that I am, I bought 1kg of soy protein isolate from Myprotein, the unflavoured version to keep it really cheap, which it was....BUT it's really really unpleasant! hurl

So just a warning should you be tempted like I was.

I'll not waste it though, down it in one, get it done! Reminds me of my good old stupid drinking days, just without the fun!!!

Get an unflavoured one, and mix it with your own flavouring (fresh fruit maybe).

Doubt you will get it in a small Tesco. I saw it in Watford Tesco extra, didn't look like they sold any as shelf was full. I didn't buy any because I'm doing the bulletproof diet thing but toasted with some spread might be nice. It's whey isolate based and low carb. Probably be a quick easy pre-workout and post workout meal. Seems like a great idea for another protein source option.

Just tried the protein bread and really like it. Tastes a lot better than burgen, isn't too spongy and goes down well untoasted. Probably the quickest way to chew through 30g of protein.
