I'm visiting parents at the moment for a week so no training, using it as a rest and recovery week. Itching to throw some weight around though!
Pff. No excuses. Bodyweight exercises FTW.

After reading a suggestion in a cycling mag, decided to try a mash up yesterday of a cardio and weights session just for novelty. So, 10 minute warm up on the turbo trainer, then on to the bench for 3x10 reps of bench press. Back on the tt for 5 minutes, then 3x10 for dumbell flyes, then back on the bike and so on through 8 different body parts.

The DOMS this morning is interesting; moving around like Frankenstein's monster!

I understand this is known as Hurricane training, a specific form of interval training.

I live at sea level, Dubai, and last week I did a workout while staying in Kathmandu - to say I ran out of puff early is an understatement!

When I was in my old gym/previous home I often used to cycle between lat pulldowns and cycling, or presses and cycling non-stop for say 30+ mins using the timer on the bike to set the rest interval for the weights, either 30s or 1, 2, or 3 mins. I didn't seem to lose any strength and gained a lot cardio/weight loss wise.

Also used to superset leg press and pulldowns with a high level bodybuilder and that was good, if hard.

Yet lazyitis has now taken over so today just pushups - x40, x20, and x20.

Out of interest, why do some people wear "hoodies" while lifting indoors? To keep their muscles warm? To make sure they sweat as much as possible? To look fashionable?

I'm thinking of Ken "Skip" Hill and Kai Greene having watched a few YT videos.

Same reason they were beanie hats. Because they're douche bags.

Two very good bike rides over the weekend in France. Got back yesterday, boat trip made me feel really tired so a bit below par at gym..

Dumbell bench press - 180lb x 5 for 3 sets
Weighted dips - 12 x 4
Weighted pullups - 8 x 4
Barbell curls - 10 x 90lb

Tonight night time training ride on the bike.
