I know I'm going to get flamed but I want an Evora more than ever, main issue here is Mrs Boggy will not sell her BMW to buy One & I don't want to part with my 2 11 as it's the best Toy I've ever owned. If an Orange 2+2 or a Green car becomes available for sub 32k I will not be responsible

I've got to stop changing cars

Thanks Sir

The 2 11 will have to go eventually as we don't have the room for both in our garage, the Evora stacks up better for us plus I love the driving experience on the road.

2 11 is a great track car but a bit of a bind on the road and I'm just not using it enough I'll see how it goes for a few month's with a view to selling on next year and replacing with an Evora

Heh. If I didn't like the Evora, I wouldn't have bought it!

Great car! Not perfect, but great fun.

Boggy,

Know of a great Evora if your interested :-) it's black and more than want to pay but thought I would let you know in case. Am only getting rid as I have an Exige V6 on order.

No pressure but if you want any info then feel free to give me a shout :-)

im also still really tempted.....and having seen maclotus's thread, also tempted to have a go at making a GTE front bumper for it too

also really like the new Exige V6...but am assuming that's going to be as raw as my elise, and my spine reckons something like an evora would be a good move for a bit smile

sorry...think might be going to disappoint you...its not that he's made a GTE bumper, just what he IS making himself for his conversion is quite inspiring.....and i do like making things smile

These guys in the US list the Mansory carbon fibre front bumper used on the Mansory concept car they showed off before the Evora GTE. Similar style, but suits the width of the regular car. Pretty pricey though.

You'd think this sort of thing is what they'd be offering through the Lotus Bespoke service, but haven't really seen anything beyond the announcement? http://www.lotuscars.com/gb/our-cars/special-cars/...

That looks pretty damn good...but yeah, kinda costly (considering you can buy enough carbon fibre matting and resin to make something of this size for a few hundred quid)....but whether you could make something that doesn't look - to quote another thread - 'utter gash' I really don't know!

you could do something at home. But it would either look gash because if was not moulded surfaces ro weight a ton due to the filler / support structure.

I am guessing at that price they will have to sell 4 - 5 to break even on the design / tooling charges.

i suspect you're correct!

and i guess that factored into the purchase price 3k aint awful given current car prices..

would modifying a standard bumper work/be easier i wonder.....

As a matter of interest, do any of you drive these as an everyday car and, if so, what are they like in snow and / or ice?

Sorry, not wishing to hijack the thread, but I quite fancy one too.

Davel,

I tucked mine away during the winter but I do know of another Evora owner who fitted winter tyres on his Evora and said it was great in the winter weather and handled great.

Longest trip that I did on mine was a 2 week holiday from Netherlands down to Mugello in Italy. We were in the car most days. I found it to be excellent so suspect as a day to day car it would be great and definitely easy to live with.

Mine is an everydayer. So drive it in winter, rain and sun.

Works fine so far.

Although I won't drive it in snow.

I've driven my Esprit in packed snow. It was bloody interesting nuts
Didn't get out of second gear and had to be feather light on the throttle or I was oversteering at 5mph yikes

Drive mine every day, and its been rock solid. in the heavy rain that we have had it feels very planted. You may want to get a copy of this DVD goes through the development, testing and launch phases all very impressive.

http://www.dukevideo.com/Cars/DVD/Marques-and-Mode...

A key part was when the car was taken to Bosch for its custom software, plus the crash test sequence all very impressive yet hardly spoken about on the forums.
