Just had an insurance quote on the S. Me and wifey (43&45), 3pts on her licence, parked in the drive (won't fit in the garage). £1013. Sound about right?
Same profile as yours but I use the Co-op for a NA I have it at (around )£700 with business use and limited miles (8,000)

Ah, just thought, I could put it on the Admiral multicar policy I have for the Porker and the SAAB (don't take the Elise as its modded). Their quote also inc track days but I am not sure how many and 10,000 limit/guide.

I hadn't orgionally considerd the Co-oP but year before last specialist car insurance said the underwriters were not going to cover business use so I shopped around realy surprised with the Co-oP deal

Just had a renewal quote for £420 from Tesco, garaged, no points, me and wife, 32 yrs old. Not taking it though...£370 with swift...and just sold the car! Range Rover Sport quote to replace it is only £220!

I must live in a safe area! Try money supermarket or Tesco and don't forget to enter your club card points...knocks loads off...they know I don't buy booze, fags or pills...low risk? Forget specialist insurers..it's just a car after all.

Blimey! Just looked on Moneysupermarket and (only me and no track days) it was £326!!! My Elise is near £600!! I've been diddled! Still, another excuse for buying one!

Ross try A-plan (the thatcham office) as well, they have always matched or bettered the best offer on Money supermarket (admittedly not with a lotus) for me in the last few years.

Nice. I'm jealous. TBH I'm giving up on buying one. The dealer with the car I want CBA to sell it to me and I've had so many foreign enquiries for my car that it's doing my head in! Still, another year with my Elise isn't so bad smile

Stratstone. You call them, they put you through and then no one answers....3 times! Then you email and say call me tomorrow and they call you 1hr later when you're not there!

Going around in circles atm! The 2011 S model I liked isn't that much less than a deal on the SR model in N/A trim. Problem is that I managed to 'man maths' my way up to one of those and had a good look. Now if I look back at the Stratstone one I sort of feel it looks a bit 'less good' if you know what I mean. Problem is that I am now entering the world of expensive new cars and as a result fairly big chunks of depreciation. So, after worry about this I thought that maybe I should buy a £30k car and after a year or two buy an nearly new SR. Flipping heck! smile

What about an early MY12 if you want an S? Few around at sub-£50k and gets you the bulk of the improvements just without the black detailing (easy to add).

I went for ~£30k NA having had a 250hp Europa before that. Loving the car. Yes a S would be nice but not convinced the extra power is worth the cash unless you are pretty loaded. Had a good drive up the Donnington in company of a Superchanged Elise S2 and on give and take roads the Evora stayed ahead quite happily (TC and good traction help).

I done a few hoons with everything from Renaultsport Meganes to GTRs and tbh, once up to speed everything is pretty much the same performance as there's a limit to what you can achieve on 99.9% of roads.

I'm going to drive the S on Thursday at B&C but they don't have an N/A. I might see what S models are around that can be 'converted' to the SR look. TBH there aren't that many out there. I'll need to drive the N/A too before making any decisions.

I test drove both. Didn't seen the point of the S considering all the extra money. It didn't seem to have a huge amount more than the standard. At least, not to me.

I got the black one with black interior that was sold privately, love it. BTW saw quite a few at Donnington at the weekend. The red and yellow ones also look the nuts.

If you must have an S the grey one at Silverstone is lovely with the best interior colour and Larinni, sounds the nuts. The only reason I did not get it is I use mine every day and the mileage on that one was too high for me.

cheers

Yellow S at Stratstone still looks like a good deal though?

Also did a 4yr ownership cost an a new SR in NA form is only £8k more (so £2k p.a.).
