As the title really. My car is looking filthy and it's black which doesn't help.

I don't intend ending up as one of these extreme detailer types but after I have washed it, what do you recommend as a wax product that will help it look shiny and not take forever to apply etc?

Also the handbook says not to use any product on the leather. Mine is oyster and looking a bit grubby - any suggestions here? Seems odd to say not to use anything, feeding and cleaning products have worked well on other cars in the past.

Thank you

If you're after simple but effective, you can't do much better than Armorall Shield.

I find it's great to use on stone chip protection as it's a liquid rather than a traditional wax.
Their wheel protectant is also very good, so worth looking for the twin pack.
For cleaning the leather, I use 3M Leather Wipes.

You can clean the leather and it will come up nicely but you can't feed it. Automotive leather has been sealed since the late eighties so feeds don't penetrate into the hide, it'll just sit on top and take forever to dry out and even then leave some residue.

I use Collinite 476S on mine and it comes up great. For the leather I use 3M leather wipes that do a great job lifting the dirt.

AutoGlym have a nice range of products the Aqua wax is a nice product, as is the HD Wax or Exra Gloss protection

Which product are 'Better' I am not getting in to an argument over that one but i would use a supplier that provides a range of car care products why not just go with that they are possibly much the same

You could indulge in some exotic wax

Or maybe some Zymol Vintage @ £2230.00 http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/wax/zymol-wax/zymol-...

I use dodo juice on mine, does a great job and the red mist post wash spray is very quick to use and gives a great just waxed look.

I believe the product usage is also dependent on your car colour.

I tried this one in the end. I wasn't expecting much but the laziness of putting it on a wet car appealed. Really impressed with it and only took about ten minutes.

I will get some of those 3m leather wipes this weekend.

I agree, I was totally sceptical at first, you don't need a lot of it and the car always feels 'smooth" when I have finished I normally use a micro cloth to apply/dry

I've just seen this thread. If anyone needs any advice like this in future or what to use etc, just let me know. I'll be happy to email a link of products to anyone that asks. I'll be at lotus Silverstone detailing an evora on Friday if anyone happens to be popping by. Said car will be protected with this stuff once I've finished the machine polishing.

Also, it's true. You can't really feed leather. But you can protect it a bit once cleaned. Something like this combo: http://gtechniq.com/shop/3s-for-cars/interior-coat...

Little and often is probably the best way I just spray a little on, the cloth tends to have the Aqua wax on and will wipe over the paint work you don't need to spray every inch.......I guess its trial and error
