Although I originally nearly bought an S my budget is now dictating a N/a version but hard to find one a sensible price !
If anyone selling there early Evora I have a wedge of cash ready to go ! or even a lil drive as I have never driven a standard one ? would be good to know I actually like the car before travelling the length of the country to buy one !

What's your budget? There does appear to be a shortage of these at the moment- I had the dealer I bought mine off 18 months ago call me last week offering to buy it back.

I have just checked the classifieds - prices do seem to have moved up due to the lack of supply. I don't intend to sell mine in the short term but always open to offers. I think if I was putting it up there it would be around 32k based on what is up already. Mine has sport, tech and premium packs and about 25,000 miles.

Of course, these cars may not be selling at those prices.

Cheers for replies guys , Regarding the market place -

there is a metallic grey one ( not my fav choice ) for £29990 not highly specced been advertised for a long time unsold from a TVR specialist and a couple of 2010 NA cars that have been sold in the last couple of months through Lotus Dealers for around £32k higher spec but obviously with the advantage of a main dealer check over , used Lotus Warranty etc so That is where I am basing my budget !
I have a friend who nearly bought one 6 months ago and said he saw a couple good milage & spec sell on eBay/ autotrader for £28-29k just not the colour he wanted so he bought a Porsche .
There just are not that many available right now , I guess if I waited a while and a few people all were trying to sell that might lower the prices a bit again
But patience is not my strong point lol

Bought mine on the last day of feb. Its an n/a with all 3 packs, new clutch, new gear cables, cutom tubular exhaust and barge boards. Highish mileage at 38k but looking new in all other respects. I paid £30k from a Lotus dealer with 12 month warranty. I looked at a few others at the time, the only one that came close was an orange one with lower mileage.

I am very pleased with mine, I would sell it for the right price but you wouldnt want to buy it at that price smile

If you are around Gloucestershire and insured fully comp, I might let you have a go on the basis that "you bend it, you buy it " smile

As we are heading towards summer I would guess demand will stay strong - maybe if you can wait till Sep/oct there will be deals to be done.

And of course there is the man maths way of looking at it- stretch your budget as they look like the won't be going to go down much in price, based on the last year or so. It does seem a common theme for Lotus, strong second hand demand, limited volumes, price gets supported.

Talking my own book.

The £29990 Evora belongs to me. In addition to being a TVR dealer, we specialise in Elise/Exige too, but with the lack of cars around at the moment, I'm finding it very hard to buy decent Lotus stock.

I bought the Evora because I wanted to try one and I have now done 4000 miles in the five months I've owned the car. If I wasn't a car dealer, I'd actually consider the Evora as an "every dayer"; as I really like the saloon car ride and acceptable levels of comfort on the motorways (plus I've seen over 40mpg on a number of occassions); and then the traditional brilliant Lotus levels of ride and handling on A and B roads. I also like the posative reactions I get from the car in petrol stations and at lights etc. I keep me meaning to track day it too.

Downsides to the Evora I find are, it's difficult to find suitable parking spaces, reversing it, the high/wide sills and the small boot (although there's plenty of space in the cabin). But those are tiny points really.

What I don't like about the Evora is that Lotus seem to have forgotten about the car since its launch five years ago. There should be a convertible version and a flagship 380-400bhp engine version by now. I also think if it looked more like the Evora GTE they'd sell more new cars.

Those CF touches are easy to add biggrin

Once my Sag has finished with its work, I'll be adding the GTE style CF bits to my Evora, but not at the Lotus prices.

I think I have said before, according to a Lotus engineer I know, he said the GTE front really messed up the downforce at the front? Maybe it has been tweaked since then? Definately looks the muts nuts though!

I was just planning on the sills at the side and replacing back bits with CF.

I think Lotus lack of development with the Evora stems from the Bahar days, he really wasn't interested in the car. It was only when he realised that a car manufacturer needs to sell cars not just dream about the future that he paid some attention to it and we got the MY12 revisions. I hope the current management have got more realistic plans and will take the car forward
