I spotted an Evora Ambulance in a BBC News website article. Would be nice if the UK ambulances services could all have at least one of these (can't see it happening somehow)!

All that is needed now is an Evora fire tender to get the full set of emergency service Evoras.

Great publicity for Lotus.
However, if you need to carry medical equipment accross a dessert country at speed, it's not the most practical solution.

there are few cars barring all out supercars or seven / atom types that you couldn't get all the kit required for an RRV into.

SCAS or SECAMB had their community paramedics/ ECPs in Binis at one point but the equipment filled the entire rear section - this is why the tendancy has been for at least Astra / Focus sized estates if not the next size car up or a small SUV or Zafira size vehicle - the Octavia has been a favoured vehicle for a few years whether VRSes by the like of London HEMS or the Scout estates as favoured by several of the NHS ambulance services ( it's the standard RRV for both YAS and EMAS although there's still some Zafiras in yorkshire and V40s in the e mids)

the 'mobile medical team' provision tends to use larger vehicles especially the ones which work with three person crews - V70s have been common choice , the two person teams tend to use the slightly smaller vehicles (E.g. London HEMS cars being Subarus and then Skoda).

interesingly i can seethe greater problem with the evora being poor eye lines for the driver , i know of a number of Ambulance staff who reckon cross country an Ambulance can keep up with an on paper much faster RRV in the twisties because of better vision
