One data point doesn't really help your case. The car has been out for five years now, and you can get models in every spec and every condition - each at it's own price. Of your nine total posts on PH, you've only talked down the Evora price - are you in the market to buy one? biggrin

Comparisons with the Esprit are utterly meaningless - the V8 car is now much sought after, and has appreciated significantly over the last 18 months. You won't get one for anywhere near 15K.

As for the link between Evora and the Porsches - Lotus aimed somewhere between the Cayman and 911 with the original car but didn't get the marketing right. The new Evora looks like it'll be put squarely up against the 911. I'd expect that to help prices if they get the press right.
I'm a long term reader. The reason I eventually joined is because the new Evora is coming and prices of the current Evora have started to become attractive (i.e. the £25k low mileage recent sale for an NA and £34.5k for an S). I'm gauging a value for over this year and next to ideally aim for. The Cayman, 911 and other marques like AMV8 etc. are all falling at the moment and putting pressure on them. The new Evora 400 is going to push a bit more. It is how much i'm trying to understand. It certainly won't be £1-2k but neither will it be £10k.

In the next year my hope/expectation is 1-3k drop in 2012 model year cars onwards for the s variant based on the fact more of that year will be coming on the market due to them coming out of warranty and the arrival of the 400. I am looking to pick up a MY2012/2013 for late 30's early 40's and have already seen these prices.

Similar boat to me. An S is my preference also. The previous sales I mentioned were advertised at that price so the final selling price may have been a few k below.

The thing is...if there are enough of you waiting for the Evora prices to come down, there is only a limited supply of cars available for you all. You buy the cars at a lower price, supply is squeezed, the prices firm up again ;-)

Yes they will firm up again. It is the new model and general fall of competitor cares that will effect the balance of supply and demand. There is a lot of interest in the 400 from existing owners with intention to buy one.

Cant disagree the prices will firm up again the question is at what price point. With a few MY 2012 onwards available for just under 40k or just over 40k and with many 2013 models at 45k ish. With the 2013 models coming out of warranty next year owners will jump and I anticipate more to become available and as such late 30's /early 40's seems a reasonable expectation next year for a MY2012 onwards Evora S.

Two Lotus dealers are already selling S Evoras for £37k and £37.9k.

2013 are £41k (from a Lotus dealer again) so that puts 2012 somewhere between the two.

If you are thinking of the White Sr at Silverstone, it's quite high mileage. I looked at it St the weekend.

I was thinking this. But if its just a wrap can be removed easily. Also room for a cheeky (but realistic) offer as it's been for sale for a while. Personally I want almost any colour but grey, black or silver as the car suits bright colours and all my cars (bar one) have been grey black or silver.

I agree, I want orange, although yellow or white SR's seem the most likely

My car is Storm Titanium which can look pretty classy as the reflections are great

That's a MY11 Evora S.
Unlike a main stream car you can't simply state an Evora will be worth 'x' amount based on its registration date. That actually goes for Lotus' in general. Model Year, spec, history and condition count for everything. For example, If I were to sell my MY10 I'd probably price it over the "book", and would get it.

Indeed. Just bored of the same colour over and over. My preference is the blue that looks like polestar volvo, yellow, then red or white.

A lot of the spec is aligned with a facelift. It is also a 2013 plate.

The spec in writing is pretty much the same until you get down to the detail. It is a pre MY12 car. I was discussing this and a number of other cars with a Lotus dealer at the weekend.

I'm not sure it would sit around for over a year before being registered. The spec does have items from the facelift. I guess only one way to find out.
