I have been looking at the evora s more and more as a possible next car and definitely prefer it in terms of styling over a 997.2 s.

I don't think the car needs more power but as with any car you get used to it after a while so i was wondering what performance options there are and what gains sit with those option?

I know there is a company that does performance packs starting at 1500 odd rising to 7000 odd that will add almost 50hp.

Really I was looking to understand intakes available and gains, maps available and gains, exhaust systems available and gains etc.

Go to Hangar 111 website and then give Greg a call. They basically do a series of upgrade packages developed by a German company called Komotec (you can also look at their website).
I have the 390hp upgrade (about 18 months ago) on my S and it made a worthwhile difference aswell as improving economy.
The top end kit goes to 430hp, but also has a significant increase in torque, for which they also uprate the clutch...I would think this upgrade would satisfy most people.
The alternative is to speak to someone like Stratton motor company which run various endurance race cars, but you are talking silly money.

Is this the only company offering performance upgrades?

Their site says the s is 355bhp as standard, I thought it was 345bhp?

I think the variation is due to catalyst and back box options. The latest cars have done away with the third cat and can be specified with a sports back box...I think 350hp is what Lotus quote now...no doubt someone will correct me.
Noticeable improvments can be made by simple fitting new headers, which remove the two header cats, and replacing with a single sports cat. Trouble is that is if you have gone to all the trouble of replacing the headers, it is a relatively simple job to alter the supercharger ration and flash the ECU.

Can the evora really manage 400+ bhp?

The 390 option seems spot on. From reading reviews there is more power across the entire rev range and it makes the car more lively to drive. It's anything but slow anyway but an extra 40hp seems to be the cherry on the cake.

The Evora has got one of the best chassis there are, of course it can easily handle 400hp...I already want more, but am waiting until the new Evora is launched to see how much better it really is...it has a tough job.
I have said before that I did a road trip a couple of years ago on some mountainous roads with a variety of perfornce cars including various 911`s (inc GT3 and turbo..albeit 997 and 996 versions), Astons, a GTR etc and the Evora was easily a match for any of them. Clearly in a drag race the GTR would have walked away but it would have been close with any of the others, but add a few bends the cars fantastic balance, responsiveness and ability to soak up bumps all at the same time meant even the GTR was struggling.
