As above I have been watching evora prices from the day they were released. I have always longed to own one however as an Elise 111r owner I am unsure if the driving and ownership experience will be even better?

I currently use my elise for weekend blasts and a few trackdays a year. It has a 2bular exhaust and trd airbox along with TD 1.2s and r888s and I love the way it looks, sounds and drives - I guess the question is can an evora with similar mods be even better?

I did exactly the same and two and a half years into Evora ownership. It is a great car.

BUT: I don't really use it everyday and do miss having the sound, punch and convertible of the 111R as a weekend car. The Evora is agreat car but I do miss my hooligan Elise.

I take it you found the 111r is slightly quicker / more fun?

What car do you honestly prefer after owning both?

They are very different. Evora works as an every day car and therefore is less raw, less ho cart like and less annoying if you are taking the mrs out for dinner.

As a weekend car, 111r all day long.

They are quite different. Evora feels more grown up.

As others have said its different, even an NA is very quick it feels more solid and I hasten to add I 'trust' it more the feed back from the steering is awesome in the wet you don't feel your going to fall off the black stuff

I have been lucky enough to own both...

For a weekend blast on a sunny day around the local B roads, then the Elise. If you are actually going anywhere, the Evora.

The Evora gives you 90 - 95% of the Elise agility/feedback, but in a car that is brilliant at all times in all conditions on the road. On a track the Evora is very fast and in my experience quicker than most Elise type cars, but not as raw, and therefore not quite so much fun.

My Evora has 390 hp, and is currently being uprated to 430hp by Hangar 111...I cannot wait...to loose my licence?

I have an Elise 111R (sports racer) and Evora NA which I hire out. The hirers have different requirements, with the Elise usually booked for run round the Lakes with the top down on nice days, but the Evora is equally at home on the twisty bits just without the wind in your hair.
If you are wanting to use the car on a daily basis the Evora is very easy to live with but still has that special Lotus dna and an event everytime you drive it. If it is just a weekend toy though the 111R with the top off takes some beating.

Thanks for the advice guys. As I thought I am probably best off keeping my 111r for my current needs, which is a shame as I have been fancying a change!

Could you start a topic detailing the upgrade and the benefits and negatives etc? This is something I am really interested in doing once I buy a Evora S.
