Hi all...

I am currently considering chopping my M3 in for something else. I've only just got the car, but an unexpected change of circumstance means I not longer need a "sporty" car with four usable seats, so I can now have something more focused.

The Evora has always piqued my interest, and recently the 400 blew me away. Whatever Lotus did made the thing stunning.

Long story short, I popped up to Stratton Motor Company in Norfolk today and drove both an Evora S and a new 400. Wow. I could not believe how good these cars were! I had expected them to drive well, but be about it. Instead they were the whole package - drove well, looked superb (especially the 400) and felt like very nice places to be too.

So much so I'm now looking at ways of affording one. Just not sure whether to go new or used. Anyone got any info on what the "sports racer" entailed?

Just thought I would post this to say all you blokes/ladies who bought one over the competition, well done! This is a proper car, no doubt.

Just go with whatever suits your budget best, you won't go wrong with any model. I've gone 2011 S, 2013 S Sports Racer and now have a brand new 400, no regret at choosing them over the German offerings etc.

Wait until you hear the 400 through a tunnel, with windows down, at 5,000 revs! If you don't giggle like a school child, you're a better man than me! Ask James to take you out again to find one - I'm sure he would be happy to help.

He does seem to enjoy his job, and I can't blame him!

My next mission is to pop to the factory, as I'd like to see a few more colours on cars.

Did James offer the 50:50 deal to you? A new Lotus might be closer than you think.

If you're near Colchester, and want to see a metallic grey one with red leather and black pack, happy to show off ours.

I'd love to see that - I will PM you.

I had a dark grey 400 follow me as I went to Stratton as it happens, looked utterly sensational

To finish this thread off, following my meeting with Greg, a fair bit of ummming and aaaah-ing, I bought a 400 and have been extremely happy overall.

My adventures with the car I decided to document on YouTube - you can follow it at www.jayemm.com and I also created a thread in reader's cars here too.
