Very nice! Is it one of the Lotus Silverstone cars? They have a couple of supercharged SRs on the site at the moment and both look / read lovely.

I don't do enough longer drives, tend to pop out for a couple of hours but decided to head through the hills to the coast today. Last time I did that route was in the 911 I had before the Evora, both great, but the Evora is a load more involving.

Right, so I've damaged my right hand side a-pillar trim (external, by the windscreen) while trying to stop some wind noise. Any recommendations for source of parts?

Looking for better exhaust sound as previously discussed. I ordered the 2Bular link pipe at Christmas. Turned up last week and is very nicely made. Got the car up on stands (surprisingly easy, no clearance issues), removing undertray and splitter was a bit tricky due to a rounded fixing on the undertray. It was one of the two rearmost ones buy the exhaust tip so access with drill was tricky.

Anyway, undertray off - and the car already has a straight through pipe between manifolds and the silencer.

Anyone want a straight through link pipe for an Evora S ?

Rear tyres are wearing on inside shoulder. Car is only used for fun and I do like to lean on the back end so it's possible it's down to usage but I think it's due a quick once over of suspension bushes etc and a good wheel alignment check.

This is a clip from what I had ithought was the "before" situation... but as explained, it already had the straight through pipe.

Bummer! Get a Larini valves back box. Love mine. My rear left was wearing on the inside. Needed alignment. It was way off!
Money better spent than a keyfob wink
I'm waiting to see the painted version.

Can't decide on a Larini or dive in a bit deeper and go Komotec. I've not wanted more performance during any drive, but you always tell yourself more is better.

Any recomemdations on alignment?

My Evora has just had its first service in my ownership. I had put tyres on in and done some small maintenance jobs myself but this was the first time it's gone into a dealer.

Reasonable value, seemingly a thorough job, good service from pleasant people. A good first visit to lotus Silverstone.

I also have been using my motorbike for fun over the last few weeks so the Lotus has been sat idle. Really, really enjoyed the drive down to and then back from Silverstone, it's is a lovely little car :-)

Hahaha... I was hoping for an Elise or an Exige or something... but the silver A4 it was. Haven't driven an A4 for ages, had less room in the drivers footwell than the Evora

So, I'm close to 11 months in now. As a fun car, the Evora is still brilliant. It's plenty quick enough, and the handling is more enjoyable the more familiar with it I become.

I am however thinking about getting a convertible for the next few months..... does the Evora go and be replaced by a 911 or F-type (different cars, less fun when in the mood, but maybe I'd use them more)? Or do I add a convertible along side (older 911, slk55, XKR) ?

What do you reckon?

Get and S1 or S2 Elise...they are even more fun than the Evora and when you want to move on you can sell it for more than you paid for it!!...or an Exige V6 roadster...they are a bit like a rabid dog and an awesome experience.
Hmmmm. I was really thinking about something more day to day, but I do like the exige.

The SLK is a nice convertible to have. I added it to my collection as well as the Evora as the convertible
I've been keeping an eye on them a while now, not actually driven one though. And there is the extra overhead of running another car.

Have had a couple of brilliant drives in the Evora this weekend, it's a lovely car which I think I'd regret selling....

I did have the use of an F-type for a few weeks before finally deciding on the Evora last year. I was left with the view that its a muscle car in that it was fairly big, heavy and brutal. Very different to the tactile / delicate Evora. I did manage a couple of weekends away (It didn't have the spare wheel so at least had some, very limited boot space). Its a very different car and I was clear that it wasn't for me at the time, but every time the sun comes out......

Think I'll make a point of using the Evora lots more over the next few weeks and see how I feel after that.

..... while keeping an eye on autotrader and Ebay etc, anything could happen.

Hello Barrie, They're really tight as a 2+2, I think of it as a 2+1. My kids are 11 and 12, they are in it pretty regularly and they fit fine with the one in the back sitting behind the passenger seat. If I need to put two in the back, the one behind the driver has to sit cross legged as there is very little foot room when I have the drivers seat in an OK position, this makes it only suitable for short journeys 4 up. Is also getting a bit close on head room as they grow but is OK. Once again, either of mine are fine in the back for an hour or two behind the passenger seat.

The funny thing is they both absolutely love the car, they enjoy it far more than the previous 911 and M3 convertible and loads of other things we've tried.

Thanks for the info. Will have to go and have a test drive.
Let us know how you get on. They are a wonderful drive, hope you can make the space work as there isn't really anything else as tactile and involving in a 2+2. You have to go to bigger GTs and things like the GTR otherwise.

What is the team view on headlight lacquer? I've done a quick tidy up job on them in-car a while ago but the peel returns. They're now out and ready for a long term fix.

But what is the best long term fix? I'm a bit worried that re-lacquer is probably only a 12 month repair and will need to be repeated. Anyone had it done and had years of no problem afterwards?

I'm starting to lean towards the sand, polish, UV protect polish, paint protection film route. The main reason being it will be easier to re polish and re protect periodically than it is to re lacquer.

What experience do you guys have of how long the repairs last?
