Elise automatic?

Anyone have any knowledge of the above? Seems to suggest that it would be the same price as the manual surely this is some mistake as cannot see anything on any other sites including the lotus site.

Old page I think. They developed it years ago and announced it, but from what I heard the performance was going to be poor (0-60s in ~7 seconds) and they could get it working smoothly so eventually canned it - it was the manual box with a hydraulic package to handle shifting. Same happened with the SPS system for the Evora GTE which were rebadged GT 350 when they converted them back to the standard Evora S drivetrain.

The development cars were offered for sale converted back to manuals by Stratton I think.
